Google has altered its approach to TV and streaming , merging Chromecast and Android TV into a $50 Google-branded offering featuring a remote control. Chromecast with Google TV is the official new name for the setup, which marks the end of the Android TV brand name, which had been in use since 2014. The new connected device was a key part of the introduction Wednesday of new Pixel phones and Nest speakers, among other products. Google TV is available now in the U.S., and it will be available October 15 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK. EXCLUSIVE: Fear The Walking Dead co-creator Dave Erickson has closed an overall deal with MRC Television . Under the multi-year pact, Erickson will exclusively work with the indie studio on the creation and development of television series on which he will serve as writer-showrunner or supervise other writers. As part of the deal, Erickson is developing The Jaunt , based on the 1981 Stephen King short story originally published in The Twilight Zone Magazine. Discovery Wednesday unveiled a long-term partnership with Saudi telecom’s group’s digital entertainment arm Intigral to provide broadcast and subscription-video-on-demand content to its flagship OTT service, Jawwy TV. The deal gives Jawwy TV subscribers to access to select Discovery content in a Discovery+ branded area on Jawwy. New and existing Jawwy TV subscribers who sign up will be offered 12 months of Discovery+ content on Intigral. Jawwy TV subscribers will also receive seven of Discovery’s international linear channels: Discovery Channel, Fatafeat, TLC, Discovery Family, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and Investigation Discovery, with more to follow. Once available in region, the parties will collaborate on making the Discovery+ app available to the telecom group’s mobile customer base in KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain. Jeff Tobler is exiting his role as SVP, Television Publicity, Communications and Social Media for Warner Bros. Worldwide Television for a new opportunity. He is joining the narrative change collective Array as Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to Array President Tilane Jones and founder Ava DuVernay , Tobler will be responsible for leading all aspects of brand, marketing and communications strategy across the quartet of companies that includes Array Filmworks, Array Alliance, Array Crew, which  launched last week, and Array Releasing. Tobler starts on March 1 and will be based on the Array Creative Campus in Echo Park’s Historic Filipinotown. The appointment extends Tobler’s relationship with DuVernay. He worked with the renowned filmmaker at Warner Bros. TV where she has been under a mega overall deal.
