The duo most recently served as the showrunners/executive producers of HBO Max’s hit series The Flight Attendan,t which was recognized with two Golden Globes nominations including Best Television Series-Musical/Comedy and Best Actress-Musical/Comedy for Kaley Cuoco; two Critics Choice nominations including Best Comedy Series and Best Actress for Cuoco; two SAG Award nominations including comedy ensemble and Actress for Cuoco; and a WGA Award nomination. ABC has handed its latest pilot to Quinta Brunson ’s workplace comedy Harrity Elementary . The single-camera project scored a put pilot commitment in September and now will aim to film a pilot over the next few months. Created by, starring and exec produced by A Black Lady Sketch Show star Brunson, Harrity Elementary follows a group of teachers brought together in one of the worst public schools in the country simply because they love teaching. They will rely on one another to make it through the day and find a way to counteract the school district’s bullsh*t attitude toward educating children. Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker , who co-created and executive produce DC Universe’s Kaley Cuoco animated comedy Harley Quinn , exec produce via their Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions banner. Nominations for the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards were revealed Wednesday morning as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association set its noms for the best in film and TV. In a year of theatrical upheaval thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, streaming giant Netflix dominated both fields with a total of 44 nominations, with David Fincher’s Mank and Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 leading the way in movies and The Crown and Ozark among the leading nom-getters in TV. Mank and The Crown scored the most noms overall with six, pacing their respective marquee best drama categories. On the film side that included Chicago 7 , Sony Classics’ The Father , Searchlight’s Nomadland , and Focus Features’ Promising Young Woman . Gizmo is finally making a comeback. Amblin and Warner Bros. have officially partnered to bring Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai to the WarnerMedia streaming service. The company has ordered the show to series, with a 10-episode season on the way. We previously heard that the show was in development back in February, but it had not been officially given the go-ahead at that time. Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will center on Sam Wing, aka Mr. Wing, from the original movie in a prequel series set years before the events of the movies. The series is said to be adult-focused. No premiere date has been set just yet. Tze Chun ( Gotham ) is on board as writer of the series. To go along with the announcement, the first piece of artwork for the series has been released, which showcases Gizmo's silhouette and the title of the prequel.
