Nick Fury and Maria Hill turned to dust in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, but the two characters are both presumably returning from the dead as they’re set to appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Vulture reports that Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders have joined the cast of the Spider-Man sequel, which is currently shooting in Europe. As fans are already well aware of, Jackson is also making an appearance in next year’s Captain Marvel, which is set in the ’90s and features a younger version of Nick Fury. Numan Acar, who is expected to play the Chameleon in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far from Home sequel, may have accidentally confirmed that Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill in the MCU, will be involved in the sequel in some capacity. Acar posted a selfie of himself with a number of hashtags that included #cobiesmulders. He has since removed the hashtags from the post, but no mention of why he had chosen to do so. Samuel L. Jackson has also recently taken to Instagram on July 11 with a suspicious S.H.I.E.L.D post: "Back to the familiar, the comfortable, the lovably fierce..." Jackson's post said, likely referencing his role as Nick Fury. Agent Maria Hill is returning to ABC's Agents of SHIELD. Marvel announced Wednesday that Cobie Smulders will make her second appearance on the series. With How I Met Your Mother having come to an end, the actress will return to the ABC drama in an April 29 episode as part of May sweeps. Her character most recently was seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where Hill teased that she might explore a new line of work following the dismantling of the SHIELD team.
