More than 300 leading figures from the French film and TV world have gotten behind a petition decrying controversial pension reforms spearheaded by the government of President Emmanuel Macron . French stars Juliette Binoche , Audrey Fleurot, Camille Cottin , Swann Arlaud, Jeanne Balibar, Bérenice Béjo, Laure Calamy, Camille Cottin, Pierre Deladonchamps and Noémie Merlant; directors Michel Hazanavicius , Alice Diop , Kim Chapiron, Maimouna Doucouré, Robert Guédiguian and Alain Guiraudie, as well as producer Saïd Ben Saïd were among the signatories. “It is high time to make our voices heard, because cinema, theater, culture, even if they sometimes offer dreams and a means of escape, above all speak of our world,” read an open letter to Macron accompanying the petition. Britain’s culture secretary Oliver Dowden has denied a report that the government has asked right-wing commentator Charles Moore and former Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre to fill two powerful UK media jobs. The Sunday Times reported that Moore has been tapped to be the next chair of the BBC , while Dacre is set to be installed as the new chair of UK media regulator Ofcom . The government is responsible for recruiting for both roles and the Sunday Times said prime minister Boris Johnson wants the pair, both ferocious critics of the BBC, to usher in a “revolution” in UK broadcasting. France has announced a measure banning all recreational apps from the work phones of the country’s 2.5 million civil servants. The move, seemingly sparked by recent concerns over TikTok , also impacts a raft of other social media and content platforms. State broadcaster Radio France is reporting that the ban includes TikTok, Twitter , content platforms such as Netflix, messaging service WhatsApp, and game apps such as Candy Crush. Deadline has contacted France’s Civil Service Ministry for clarification on the extent of the ban. The move comes a day after TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew was grilled in a US congressional hearing, amid growing momentum for the platform to be banned in the country. Kim called into the Detroit radio show "Mojo in the Morning" on channel 95.5 to come clean on the car accident. The case had been sealed, leading people to think she was getting preferential treatment from the court. Kim says the docs were sealed only because they had medical information related to her suicide attempt. She admits she specifically found a road where no one else would get hurt, ingested pills and alcohol before she "hit the gas and aimed for a pole." MMA fighter Jordan Parsons has died ... days after he was struck by a Range Rover in a hit and run incident in Florida. He was 25. "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons," Bellator MMA President Scott Coker said in a statement. Parsons was 11-2 as an MMA fighter -- and was a part of the famed Blackzilians training group with stars like Anthony "Rumble" Johnson and Rashad Evans. The MMA fighter who was struck by a car and lost his leg in a hit and run accident may have been wearing headphones that drowned out the sound of the car approaching ... officials say. The story is absolutely heartbreaking ... 25-year-old Jordan Parsons was crossing a street in Florida early Sunday morning when he was struck by a Range Rover Sport and left with "extreme injuries." Officials say the RR hit Parsons and fled from the scene -- leaving him with a severe leg wound. Emergency responders raced to the scene and applied pressure to the leg in hopes to save it -- but the wound proved too severe and it was amputated at a nearby hospital.
