March Madness , the annual college basketball ritual that leads to the Final Four and national title game, will unfold on a traditional TV schedule, according to Turner Sports and CBS Sports . The broadcast partners confirmed plans for the tournament, which the NCAA said last month it would hold entirely in the state of Indiana (and almost all of it in Indianapolis) as a safety precaution. In 2020, the abrupt cancellation of the tournament as Covid-19 was starting to sweep across the U.S. became one of the grim early milestones of the pandemic. The absence of the tournament was estimated to have cost the NCAA $600 million, and networks and advertisers lost highly valuable live programming. ViacomCBS -owned fight circuit Bellator MMA will have its matches air on corporate cousin Showtime as the premium network continues to ramp up its investment in ring sports. On three straight Fridays in April, primetime Bellator matches originating from Mohegan Sun Arena in southeastern Connecticut will inaugurate the relationship. The arena is part of a casino complex that has gradually reopened parts of its footprint with safety restrictions. It recently staged “bubble”-style NCAA college basketball games, a concept considered by many sports stakeholders during the coronavirus pandemic. Together, Bellator MMA and Showtime have held more than 20 live events at Mohegan Sun since July 2020. Disney+ has announced and confirmed a number of major released dates for upcoming shows. The reveals were made during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. Some of the series included in the presentation included the Monsters Inc. spin-off Monsters at Work , Chip 'N' Dale: Park Life and a new series titled Big Shot starring John Stamos. The streaming service unveiled Spring and Summer premiere dates for new scripted series including Star Wars: The Bad Batch (May 4), Marvel's Lok (June 1), The Mysterious Benedict Society (June 25), Monsters At Work (July 2), Chip 'N' Dale: Park Life (July 23) and Turner & Hooch (July 16).
