The showrunners of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power promise their fantasy drama for Prime Video will feature all new stories and is not “a reboot or a retread” of what J.R.R. This weekend’s scheduled episodes of two Showtime dramas have been jacked. The premium cabler said today that it will air the Paramount Pictures theatrical sequel Jackass Forever in the Sunday 8-10 p.m. slots usually occupied by The Chi and City on a Hill . Both series will return on Sunday, August 28, Showtime said. The season finale of The Chi now will air on September 4. Arriving more than a decade after Jackass 3D, the previous film in the self-flagellating-stunt franchise, Jackass Forever bowed in theaters in February, making off with $23.5 million domestic en route to a $57.7 million gross and 80.3 million worldwide. John Wick prequel series The Continental is on the move. The series is moving from Starz to NBCU streamer Peacock . The unusual move comes more than four years after the project was first unveiled by the premium cable network. Sources have told Deadline that the three-part action event series is more of a natural fit for Peacock, which recently acquired the rights to the John Wick movies, and comes as Starz has repositioned its brand over the last few years to focus more on female skewing series such as Outlander and series that fit specific demographics such as the Power franchise. It is not part of a wholesale move to move projects elsewhere ahead of Lionsgate’s pending deal to sell the cable network, as an announcement could come next month. Starz this morning announced that it has teamed with sibling Lionsgate TV to develop The Continental , a television series adaptation of the highly successful John Wick Lionsgate film franchise. John Wick star Keanu Reeves serves as an executive producer on the potential series. One of the biggest challenges for Saturday Night Live on a weekly basis is managing expectations when it comes to the show’s hosts.
