Top Chef leads the field with five nominations for the fourth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards, which were announced today. Netflix scooped a dozen noms to top all networks and platforms. Launched in 2019, the Critics Choice Real TV Awards celebrate programming across platforms and also recognize industry leaders with special awards highlighting career achievements. There were a number of winners at the 2022 Per fast affiliates, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards delivered an average 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.11 million viewers across its three-hour broadcast on NBC , slipping even lower from the previous year’s fast affiliates (0.7, 2.8M). EXCLUSIVE : Anonymous Content and CAA have signed Nuhash Humayun , the Bangladeshi writer-director whose horror short Moshari won the Grand Jury Award at SXSW 2022, for representation. The original 22-minute horror-fantasy pic was the first film from Bangladesh to premiere in SXSW’s Midnight Shorts Program. It follows sisters Apu (Sunerah Binte Kamal) and Ayra (Nairah Onora Saif), who seek shelter inside archaic mosquito nets—the only way to survive against bloodthirsty monsters—if they can first survive each other. Moshari also this year won the Atlanta Film Festival’s prize for Best Narrative Short. In addition to SXSW, Humayun’s projects have earned support from Sundance, Film Independent and ScreenCraft. Nominations for the 21st Americana Honors and Awards were announced during a special event at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville on Monday. The annual celebration of roots music will return to the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 14. Brandi Carlile , Allison Russell , and Yola all picked up three nominations this time around, thanks to their strong 2021 albums and singles. All three performers are nominated the same categories: Album of the Year, Artist of the Year (which Carlile actually won in 2021), and Song of the Year. EXCLUSIVE : Acclaimed Scottish writer Jenni Fagan has struck a two-project development deal with UK drama indie Buccaneer Scotland, which is also producing Fagan’s adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s The Blade Artist starring Robert Carlyle. Buccaneer Scotland, a division of ITV’s Marcella producer Buccaneer Media , has taken options on Fagan’s The Panopticon and Luckenbooth, and she will adapt both for TV.
