While many fans are expecting to see Deadpool at Comic-Con tomorrow, during 20th Century Fox's Hall H panel, the superhero adaptation has recently added a new cast member. Actress Leslie Uggams confirmed on her personal website that she has been cast as Blind Al in the superhero movie. The casting has yet to be confirmed by the studio, but the character could have an important role in Deadpool. In the Marvel Comics, Althea, a.k.a. Blind Al, occasionally lives with Deadpool in his San Francisco abode known as "the Deadhut." She was formerly a U.K. intelligence officer who fought alongside Captain America in World War II. Doctor Strange Casts Boardwalk Empire Star in Key Role
With production set to begin soon on Marvel's Doctor Strange, the cast is starting to come together. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Michael Stuhlbarg is in talks to join the cast in an unspecified role, which another report from Variety claims is Nicodemus West, a scientific rival of Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Both reports reveal that principal photography will begin this December in London. In the Marvel Comics, Dr. Nicodemus West was the surgeon who operated on neurosurgeon Stephen Strange's hands after a horrific car accident. While the doctor was able to save Strange's hands, he was left with significant nerve damage and was unable to perform surgery again. Burdened with guilt over this ordeal, West followed Strange to Kamar-Taj, but he arrived just days after Strange had completed his mystical training with the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Unsure about Strange's ability to become the Sorcerer Supreme, The Ancient One gave West limited training in the mystical … [Read more...] about Doctor Strange Casts Boardwalk Empire Star in Key Role
Doctor Strange Will Return In Avengers: Infinity War
While a Doctor Strange sequel is inevitable, it probably won't be announced until after the movie comes out this November. On top of that, Doctor Strange 2 won't even hit theaters until the next decade, coming as part of Marvel Phase 4, which kicks off in 2020. Thankfully, fans of the character won't have to wait that long to see Benedict Cumberbatch's return as the Sorcerer Supreme. The actor has confirmed that he will return in Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters summer 2018. Most guessed this was happening, as it has long been teased that Infinity War will contain upward of 67 Marvel characters. It makes sense that Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange would be one of them. And from the sounds of it, this fall's standalone adventure helps set up the events in Avengers 3. Captain America: Civil War, which arrived in theaters this summer and is now available on Blu-ray and VOD, was Marvel's most ambitious movie to date. It featured 12 superheroes going to battle over the … [Read more...] about Doctor Strange Will Return In Avengers: Infinity War
