The week-long Festival, led by Academy Award-winning actor and Festival Chair Geena Davis ,is known for its dedication to championing female, non-binary, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and people with disabilities’ voices in entertainment. Veteran PR executive Vicky Eguia , who worked on several award winning movie campaigns such as Pan’s Labyrinth , La Vie en Rose and Amazon Studios ’ historic Oscar winning Manchester by the Sea and The Salesman, has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 48. Her family revealed the news in a Facebook post early Saturday. Director Matt Tyrnauer finds himself in contention for awards this year with not one but two feature-length documentaries. Taken together, they offer a unique social and cultural history of America from the late 1940s into the 1980s.
