· February 8, 2021 ·

Get ready for what looks to be a really funny Film Independent Spirit Awards ceremony, which will keep us in stiches for some time. The show, which will not be live from the Santa Monica Beach this year due to Covid, has tapped SNL’s Melissa Villaseñor to host this year’s 2021 edition. Villaseñor, who cut her teeth on the stand-up circuit here in Los Angeles, and was further propelled by being a semifinalist on the 2011 edition of America’s Got Talent before landing on the SNL cast, is famed for her impersonations of such celebrities as Owen Wilson, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and more. This year’s show will be airing on Thursday, April 22, on IFC and AMC+ at 10PM ET, breaking tradition as the Spirits typically take place on the Saturday afternoon before Sunday’s Oscars. As Trump Demonizes Vote-by-Mail, His Campaign Is Urging People to Vote By Mail

· October 20, 2020 ·

Donald Trump has made no secret of his disgust with voting by mail . He’s blasted the practice as creating “tremendous potential for voter fraud,” claimed it would spark “a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of ballots” and insisted it would create “the most CORRUPT ELECTION in our Nation’s History!” In his debate with Joe Biden, Trump spun out fictional tales of tampering, insisting that ballots were “being sold. They’re being dumped in rivers. This is a horrible thing for our country.” It is ironic, then, that the president’s own re-election campaign has now launched a wide-reaching ad campaign on Facebook promoting absentee balloting in key swing states. These ads insist that mail-in voting can be done “SAFELY AND SECURELY.” pic.twitter.com/SBm4EFQRki — Tim Dickinson (@7im) October 20, 2020 The language on these ads makes no reference to potential fraud or abuse, as Trump has. In one video ad , the president’s daughter Ivanka tells voters, “Team … [Read more...] about As Trump Demonizes Vote-by-Mail, His Campaign Is Urging People to Vote By Mail

He’s Back! Donald Trump Rips Mitch McConnell As “Dour, Sullen & Unsmiling Political Hack” After Post-Impeachment Vote Speech

· February 16, 2021 ·

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell finds himself in the unique position of being something Donald Trump and Joe Biden can agree on, sort of. However, while the current president made it clear he was no fan of the Kentucky senator’s stance that opposing Biden’s Covid-19 relief plan will unite the GOP, the former Celebrity Apprentice host was much more withering in comments about his one-time legislative water carrier. “Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” the social media impotent Trump said in a statement Tuesday via his Save America PAC. “He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country,” Trump went on to offer in a verbal roundhouse punch. “Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First. We want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate … [Read more...] about He’s Back!
