BRITAIN’S Got Talent winner Richard Jones narrowly escaped death during a secret mission to Afghanistan to entertain troops. The 27-year-old magician had flown out to Kabul with three of his team to entertain servicemen and women still serving in the war-torn country. After their arrival in January, an ambulance packed with explosives was driven into a busy market street a short distance from their base. Countless people were injured and over 100 were killed in the attack, which Richard and his team were lucky not to be directly caught up in. BRITAIN'S Got Talent winner Lee Ridley has revealed his communication device allowed him to make friends for the first time in his life. The comedian - who performs under the name Lost Voice Guy - spoke exclusively to The Sun Online in his first major interview to discuss his childhood loneliness and how he found the courage to pursue his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian - despite having never been able to speak a word in his life. Revealing all in The Sun Online's Big Interview, Lee, 37, said: "I think one of the [hardest] things about my disability when I was younger was socialising. "I didn't really have friends as a child because obviously I found it hard to communicate so I felt very isolated at times. "Thankfully getting a communication device when I was eight changed all that and gave me much more self-confidence." LOST Voice Guy's grandmother has revealed the Britain's Got Talent winner almost died as a young child. Ethel Foster, 91, said there were no signs there was anything wrong when Lee Ridley of Consett, Co Durham, was born. But when he was around two-years-old, his parents David, 62, and Janet, 62, noticed he was developing slower than other children. He was then struck down by a mystery illness and doctors performed a battery of tests and later diagnosed cerebral palsy. Ethel said: "At one stage the doctors said they didn't think he would survive but he pulled through and his mum and dad had to nurse him day and night. It was a tough time. "Growing up was hard.
