In a new update in regard to the upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , Disney has confirmed that actress Adepero Oduye has been cast in the series as Sarah Wilson, sister of Sam Wilson aka Falcon, a character portrayed in the series by Anthony Mackie. The update was confirmed after a social media post from Disney revealed Mackie, Oduye, and director Kari Skogland captioned Oduye as Sarah Wilson. Adepero Oduye is known for her film appearances in 12 Years A Slave (2013), Widows (2018), and Pariah (2011). For Pariah she was nominated for Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. She was also seen in Ava DuVernay's biographical crime-drama When They See Us (2019). It’s quite clear that we’ll get more Marvel series on Disney+ this year than arguably Star Wars series. At the top of the first Disney/Marvel TCA session, President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige gave a brief rundown of the studio’s plans. March 5 reps the end of season one of WandaVision . Then on March 19 The Falcon and the Winter Solider is debuting. That will run six episodes, a speculated season end date (if Disney doesn’t skip weeks) of April 23. The next big event in the MCU to happen after Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the feature release of Black Widow on May 7. Fans holding out hope for WandaVision season 2 may want to temper expectations. Though that doesn't mean hope needs to be abandoned altogether. Marvel head Kevin Feige recently commented on the possibility of continuing the show during a Q&A session at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. For now at least, the Disney+ series is going to be a one-and-done. During the Q&A, Kevin Feige addressed the possibility of WandaVision season 2. While there are no current plans, the executive said "I've been at Marvel too long to say a definite no or yes to anything, in regards to another season of WandaVision." He then added that Elizabeth Olsen "will go from WandaVision to the Doctor Strange film." Feige is referring to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , the upcoming sequel that is currently filming. Disney+ has announced and confirmed a number of major released dates for upcoming shows. The reveals were made during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. Some of the series included in the presentation included the Monsters Inc. spin-off Monsters at Work , Chip 'N' Dale: Park Life and a new series titled Big Shot starring John Stamos. The streaming service unveiled Spring and Summer premiere dates for new scripted series including Star Wars: The Bad Batch (May 4), Marvel's Lok (June 1), The Mysterious Benedict Society (June 25), Monsters At Work (July 2), Chip 'N' Dale: Park Life (July 23) and Turner & Hooch (July 16). Additionally, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 2 is set for May 14 and Zenimation season 2 will arrive this summer on June 11.
