Apple TV+ is moving into Korean-language originals with a series based on a popular webtoon Dr. Brain that will star Parasite’s Lee Sun-Kyun . The streamer has ordered the sci-fi thriller, which will be written and directed by Kim Jee-Woon, who has directed features including A Tale of Two Sisters and I Saw The Devil. YG Entertainment, the drama arm of the South Korean entertainment company that looks after K-pop stars Blackpink, unveiled the series in May 2019 and local outlets reported that Apple had picked it up last October. The series, which is currently in production and is set to launch later this year, comes from YG-owned Studioplex, Bound Entertainment, launched by Snowpiercer producer Samuel Ha, Kakao Entertainment and Dark Circle Pictures. Married couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are taking their amped up family game nights to a new level. NBC has ordered Family Game Fight , which will see the actors both host and compete in the ten-part series. The series, which will test brains, brawn and family bonds over the course of an hour, will see Bell and Shepard be adopted into a family of four as they compete in a series of games with a big cash prize up for grabs. It marks the first gameshow for the pair, who are better known for on screen roles such as Bell’s performance in The Good Place and Veronica Mars and Shepard’s The Ranch and Bless This Mess. Star Wars Comic Reveals How Sith Lightsabers Are Made
It was previously revealed why Sith lightsabers are red. It's because the Kyber crystals inside of them are alive and they bleed. But how does a Sith go about constructing their lightsaber? That is a myth that is finally revealed and made part of the official Star Wars canon in a new Star Wars comic book. And it's just as ominous and evil as any fan can imagine. Basically, the Sith torture the living crystal, filling them with immense pain. As any Star Wars fan worth their weight in action figures can attest, a Sith's lightsaber is always red. And that color comes from the Kyber crystal inside. Alamo Drafthouse Files for Chapter 11
The theater chain announced a deal to sell its assets to Altamont Capital and Fortress Investment Group as part of the bankruptcy filing. Alamo Drafthouse, the independent theater chain known for its thematic screenings, fan-focused atmosphere and in-cinema food and drink options, is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to a filing in Delaware Bankuptcy Court. As part of the deal, Alamo is entering into a restructuring agreement, in which it will sell assets to affiliates of Altamont Capital and Fortress Investment Group. Tim League, one of the founders of Alamo Drafthouse and its executive chairman, will also be among the buyers. The deal will give Alamo access incremental financing that the company says it hopes will allow it to make it past the pandemic. The company says the operations of its open theaters will not be impacted while it undergoes the restructuring.
