Her parents, Bill and Betty Moffitt, both of whom are deceased, lived at the same house on West 36th Street for more than 40 years. King was still a senior at Long Beach’s Poly High School when she won her first Wimbledon doubles title in 1961. One of our absolute favorite festivals has just announced their lineup and it is another doozy! Get ye to New Orleans May 30 to June 2 for the 2019 Overlook Film Festival, "A 4-Day Celebration of All Things Horror." The festival is opening up with Jim Jarmusch's The Dead Don't Die. Sundance horror The Lodge will close it out. In between there are a ton of great flicks from such names as Fessenden, Begos, Strickland, and Izzy Lee, special events with Robert Rodriguez, Grady Hendrix, and Elijah Wood, plus the always incredible immersive game. Four days. Dozens of films. Tons of spooky (and immersive!) fun. The Overlook Film Festival returns to New Orleans for its 2019 edition, and the lineup is pretty damn exceptional. This year's program includes the U.S. premiere of Jim Jarmusch's The Dead Don't Die, along with festival favorites like The Lodge (from the directors of Goodnight Mommy), Peter Strickland's In Fabric, and One Cut of the Dead, with special sneak preview screenings of Ma (one of BMD's most anticipated new horror movies) and James Wan's new Swamp Thing TV series. As with previous editions, the fest will play host to live podcast recordings — like Unspooled with Amy Nicholson and Paul Scheer — and thrilling immersive games and interactive presentations.
