Actor-turned-filmmaker Alex Winter ( Showbiz Kids ) has set the murder mystery The Adults , starring Evan Rachel Wood ( Westworld ), Josh Gad ( Avenue 5 ) and Anthony Carrigan ( Barry ), as his next project behind the camera, with plans to also act in the pic. The film penned by novelist Michael M.B. Galvin — who has previously adapted his own works Fat Kid Rules the World and Freak Talks About Sex for the big screen — follows siblings Megan (Wood) and Nathan (Gad), who are barely hanging on in present-day America, like all of us. Vromen most recently directed and produced the forthcoming L.A. riots drama April 29, 1992 , starring Tyrese Gibson, Scott Eastwood and the late Ray Liotta. Deadline understands that the film, marking one of Liotta’s final projects, has recently been picked up for worldwide distribution by a major studio. No further details yet, but expect them shortly. Vromen is best known for writing, directing and producing the crime drama The Iceman , starring Michael Shannon as the contract killer Richard Kuklinski. Amidst continuing controversy over alleged sexual misconduct, it turns out Woody Allen isn’t turning the other cheek to the end of his multimillion-dollar and multi-picture deal with Amazon. The Motion Picture Association is upgrading a platform and services that assess content security safeguards of producers and their suppliers. The Trusted Partner Network , in which members’ content security is measured against a set of best practices, will now include software and cloud security assessments, adding to those of physical locations and home workplaces. The intent of the Trusted Partner Network , being relaunched as the TPN+ platform, is to have a set of standards for vendors as a way to prevent instances like the pre-release leaks of footage from major blockbusters. The new platform is designed to help members manage and communicate their content security status, including with non-TPN security certificates such as ISO and Soc2, along with conforming to a set of updated MPA best practices.
