Yorkshire and London-based production company Tempo Productions today announced that Georgia Bayliff, former Head of Film at finance outfit Silver Reel, will join Tempo’s executive team, where she will co-produce company projects. Bayliff will join Piers Tempest and Lauren Cox on the executive team at Tempo. Bayliff exits Silver Reel after most recently producing Paradise Highway , starring Morgan Freeman, Juliette Binoche, and Frank Grillo. She worked across the company’s film & TV slate for over seven years, sourcing and steering projects from development and finance through production to release. Tempo is gearing up to launch its 25th feature film into production. Barbarian producer BoulderLight Pictures has secured a multi-year first-look feature agreement with New Line Cinema , Deadline has confirmed. BoulderLight is a production company founded by J.D. Lifshitz & Raphael Margules which specializes in high-concept, filmmaker-driven genre stories and last year hit on its breakout project with Barbarian — the hit 20th horror from writer-director Zach Cregger, which grossed over $45MM worldwide against a production budget of $4.5MM. EXCLUSIVE: Fremantle is taking its biggest entertainment shows to the Arab world. The producer has struck a two-year partnership with UK artificial intelligence start-up Papercup that will see the UK and U.S. versions of Idols , Got Talent and The X Factor offered to Arabic audiences through YouTube channel Talent World (known locally as عالم المواهب.) Papercup will localize hundreds of hours of Fremantle content into Arabic using its AI technology. This will automatically translate and dub the shows with “expressive synthetic voices.” Fremantle sees the deal as providing potentially millions of new viewers for the content “without the costs and barriers associated with traditional studio dubbing.” Fremantle and Papercut already partner on a Spanish YouTube channel in collaboration with Papercup.
