A Morecambe headteacher told BBC Breakfast presenters that children at her school are so food deprived that they are stealing apple cores from the bins. BILL Turnbull has revealed that his energy levels are up after completing nine rounds of chemotherapy - but he still has "an awfully long way to go". The former BBC Breakfast presenter was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of last year. He was recording The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4 at the time. Bill, 62, has now spoken out about his cancer battle - confessing that the first few days after he was diagnosed with the disease were the "darkest". Speaking to The Mirror, Bill shared: "I did nine rounds of chemotherapy, which is a bit of a grind, to be honest. That finished a few weeks ago. "The effects of the chemo have been wearing off, which means my energy levels are back up and I feel a lot better.
