The first trailer for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot has arrived and it didn't necessarily blow anyone's socks off. This is just a Lara Croft teaser , but this may not be the movie that winds up saving video game movies in Hollywood. The movie does, however, clearly take into consideration that many people aren't a fan of movies ignoring the story of the games. In this case, the Tomb Raider trailer is essentially one giant Easter egg for the 2013 Tomb Raider video game. IGN decided to do a side-by-side comparison between the new Tomb Raider teaser trailer and some of the comparable game footage from the 2013 Tomb Raider game, which served as a reboot of the game series. Warner Bros. has released a new poster for Tomb Raider , featuring Alicia Vikander as the iconic video game character Lara Croft. The poster is a decided improvement over the first Tomb Raider poster , which several fans called out on social media, due to a poor Photoshopping job on Alicia Vikander's neck, which lead to several parody posters. This new one-sheet likely won't have the same type of response, but it will be interesting to see how fans of the video game franchise react to this movie as a whole It was confirmed last March that this movie adaptation is based on the current Tomb Raider video game series , which was launched in 2013, focusing on a younger Lara Croft as she just starts out as an adventurer. Some brand new photos from the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot have just arrived online. Looking ahead to 2018, there's a lot to be excited about, especially in terms of movies with a lot of potential. One of those movies might, dare we say, break the Hollywood curse and give us a good video game movie. Not necessarily great, but at least good. It's a little too early to tell, but this latest batch of photos from Tomb Raider look very faithful to the source material, with some serious intensity from Alicia Vikander . As we've seen in previous photos, this version of Lara Croft , played by Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander, is going to be using her bow and arrow, which she has at her ready in this latest sneak peak. Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for their highly-anticipated Tomb Raider reboot, which hits theaters in just under two months. This trailer comes just a month after we saw new photos of Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft , along with Daniel Wu's Lu Ren, and nearly four months since the first footage arrived. With the March 16 release date getting closer and closer, hopefully this trailer is just the first of much more footage to be released in the next two months. Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen.
