SOME people might argue there are too many antiques shows on telly but fans of daytime favourite Flog It! clearly don’t agree. I’m told the BBC has been flooded with hundreds of complaints in the wake of announcing its axing last week. The BBC1 show, hosted by antique dealer Paul Martin, is being taken off the air in March after nearly 17 years, to make room for new programmes. A telly source said last night: “From the moment they announced its axing the phone lines have been full with people ringing up to complain. They’ve obviously got a very loyal fan base and people are extremely sad to see it go. “Bosses didn’t expect such an outcry after the announcement. This £1 million Antiques Roadshow Evaluation leaves everyone stunned “They are hoping it dies down and viewers can look forward to new programmes which will fill the schedule.” However, Flog It! viewer Nick Fletcher started a petition last week to save the show and has branded … [Read more...] about BBC insists it will axe daytime favourite Flog It! despite floods of viewer complaints after announcement it was being taken off air
Bargain hunt presenter dies
CHRISTINE Lampard looked radiant as she stepped out in London on Thursday - just days after welcoming daughter Patricia. The telly star, 39, gave birth to the bouncing baby girl - her first with husband Frank Lampard - on September 21. And she looked full of joy as she stepped out in Chelsea earlier this week, and was snapped laughing with a friend on her mobile. Christine was dressed down in black jeans, a stripey top, leather jacket and red loafers. She and Frank opted to name their daughter after the football manager’s late mum Pat. When they announced the baby news, the TV presenter told fans: "Let us introduce you to our little girl. Patricia Charlotte Lampard! We’re so in love @franklampard." Prior to Patricia’s birth, Christine revealed just how excited everyone was about the new baby. She said: “It's lovely, we are very excited. It's the first grandchild for my parents, my sister will be an auntie for the first time. “And the girls, they are … [Read more...] about Christine Lampard looks radiant as she goes for a walk in London – days after giving birth to daughter Patricia
SHE has long hinted she would quit Our Girl after the latest series, but I can exclusively reveal Michelle Keegan will return to the BBC1 hit military drama. The actress will reprise her role as feisty Army medic lance corporal Georgie Lane for a third season in January, when filming begins abroad for two months. Last week’s series finale ended on a cliffhanger with her character under fire, after striking up a potential romance with captain Charles James, played by heart-throb Ben Aldridge. A TV source said: “Producers think that Michelle has been really good for the show, after taking over from Lacey Turner, and were keen to write her into a further series after developing her character. “They have some meaty storylines lined up involving both action and romance.” Of course, the role extension would mean more time apart for her and hubby Mark Wright, who has been presenting for Extra TV in LA. Speaking about filming away from home, Michelle … [Read more...] about Michelle Keegan has signed up for another series of BBC1 hit Our Girl

DAVID Dickinson has been a fixture on our screens for years, but returned last year with a new daytime antique-themed game show called Name Your Price. Here's everything you need to know about one of Britain's most recognisable faces, including his age, family life and net worth... How old is David Dickinson and what is his net worth? David Dickinson, 76, was born on August 16 1941 in Stockport, Cheshire, where he was adopted by a local couple. His birth mother Eugenie was a member of an Armenian textile trading family and while David wrote to her in her later life, they never met. Dickinson's adopted dad died when he was 12 and his mother worked hard to keep the family together. Aged 14, David got an apprenticeship at an aircraft factory but left to follow his roots in the cloth trade. However, when he was 19 he was found guilty of mail-order fraud. He served three years of a four year sentence and spent the majority of it in Strangeways prison in Manchester.
