Baby powder cervical cancer
KYM Marsh has admitted the late Jade Goody inspired her to get a smear test after she passed away from cervical cancer in March 2009. The Coronation Street actress was 33 when she had her first smear test, following the death of her baby son Archie, who was born premature at 21 weeks. But if Jade had not raised awareness of the condition, the 42 year old would not have undergone the medical examination and consequently would not have learnt about the pre-cancerous cells she had. Writing in her column for OK! magazine, she said: "Last week was Cervical Cancer Prevention Week and it coincided with my annual smear test. "I have one every year as I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells 10 years ago. As viewers got swept up in the emotional scenes, some couldn't help but notice the "unrealistic" behaviour from the ITV soap's extras. In fact, it wasn't until her father-in-law Ken Barlow appeared by chance that anybody paid attention to Sinead. Taking to Twitter, one fan blasted: "AS IF all those nurses would just walk past a girl in awful distress on the corridor!" Others added: "The nurses walking straight past Sinead, they would never do that! They are angels!" "Brilliant staff at that hospital. They see someone, obviously in distress, and they just walk on by?" Sinead has been left with an agonising … [Read more...] about Coronation Street fans outraged as nurses IGNORE sobbing Sinead following cervical cancer diagnosis
