EXCLUSIVE : Clara Rugaard ( I Am Mother ) and Kit Harington ( Game Of Thrones ) are set to star in a new movie about the life and circle of Frankenstein scribe Mary Shelley. The period film, which will have a contemporary sheen to it, will deal with Mary’s mental struggle to write her seminal novel. Rising Danish actress Rugaard will play Mary Shelley and Harington will be ‘the monster’. The film’s official synopsis reads: “Mary is seduced by her own inner monster catapulting her into a dangerous, destructive psychological romance. Realising the monster is inextricably linked to her own mental state, her only route to salvation is in bringing him to life”. Shot during the pandemic, the intimate film is directed by and starring Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, the filmmaking duo behind Synchronic and The Endless . For their fifth feature, the pair have taken on a meta mystery. When neighbours John and Levi witness supernatural events in their Los Angeles apartment building, they realise documenting the paranormal could inject some fame and fortune into their wasted lives. Musician Emily Wurramara is a Warnindilyakwa woman from Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island in the Northern Territory . Wurramara has deep roots in the two Gulf of Carpentaria islands, dating back to her grandmother and grandfather, who both grew up on Groote and Bickerton. In a new video produced by Rolling Stone Australia and Tourism NT, Wurramara shares her affection for the islands’ natural wonders and the cultural highlights of the NT. Growing up on Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island, Wurramara spent a lot of time at the beach. “The water for us is very sacred,” she says. “A lot of the men in my family are hunters, so they’d go on the beach, on the canoes, and they’d go hunting for turtle, for dugong or for stingray.” A lot of Warnindilyakwa songlines run through the sea.
