Fox Corp. Ad Revenue Climbs 4% In A Tough Quarter, Boosted By NFL And World Cup
Fox Corp. matched Wall Street expectations for its fiscal second quarter, powered by NFL football in the U.S. and football at the World Cup. The company reported total revenue in the quarter ending December 31 of $4.61 billion, up 4% from the year-earlier period, and earnings of 48 cents a share. Affiliate fee revenues rose 1% thanks to 6% growth at the Television unit. Ad revenue climbed 4%, no mean feat in a tough economic climate, mostly due to the World Cup in Qatar and strong NFL results at Fox Sports. Other boosts came from political spending at the company’s local stations and growth for streaming service Tubi. The category of “other revenue” increased 13%, which the company said was primarily due to the December acquisition of Mar Vista Entertainment and higher Fox Nation subscription revenue. First Lady Jill Biden Kisses Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff on Lips
First Lady Jill Biden may have played her husband's hand when it comes to the 2024 ticket ... and it all comes down to a kiss. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff was in the VIP section of the House, up in the gallery when the First Lady arrived. She planted a friendly kiss, smack on Doug's lips, which has now become a thing on social media. Getty The smooch is an old-fashioned, polite gesture for sure, but there could be political implications as well. There have been rumblings within the Democratic Party about the Veep's fate as JB circles a 2nd bid for POTUS, which he's expected to announce in a couple weeks. Some Dems think Harris would be a drag on the ticket and want him to dump her and go with a new running mate. Now it's certainly possible we and others may be reading too much into the kiss, but Jill and Joe know what time it is ... they've certainly been around long enough to know image matters. The fact that Jill gave Doug a … [Read more...] about First Lady Jill Biden Kisses Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff on Lips

‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ Has Been Rerecorded By Roger Waters Without Other Pink Floyd Members
One of rock’s greatest albums has allegedly been rerecorded by one of its prime architects. Roger Waters claimed in an interview that he has rerecorded Pink Floyd ’s classic rock epic Dark Side of the Moon without any of the other Pink Floyd members. Waters made the revelation in a Feb. 4 interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung . The interview was translated and published on Waters’ official website. By rerecording the work — something artists Taylor Swift and Prince did — Waters gains more control of his version of the work, something that has long been a bone of contention between him and other band members. Waters told the Berliner Zeitung that “the new concept is meant to reflect on the meaning of the work, to bring out the heart and soul of the album,” he added, “musically and spiritually.” Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985. He later sued the remaining members over their continued use of the band’s name. He lost that case.
