Teenager Claims Mysterious Sea Monsters Ate His Legs, Gruesome Photos Emerge

· August 7, 2017 ·

We don't have to wait for Dark Universe to unleash Creature from the Black Lagoon to give us more nightmares about swimming. An Australian boy has successfully done that himself. The teen has been left unable to walk after unknown sea monsters on a Melbourne beach attacked his legs. The graphic photos show off the teen's bloodied legs from the ankles down with a pool of blood below on the ground. The incident has the boy's parents and researchers trying to figure out just exactly what attacked they boy's legs. Doctors have said that they are baffled by the severity of the injury and do not have a cause at this time. 16-year old Sam Kanizay went to soak his legs at the Dendy Street Beach after a football match. He says that he soaked his feet for maybe about 30 minutes and felt some tingling, but assumed it was due to the frigid temperature of the water since he had felt the sensation before. But what happened next stunned Kanizay as he pulled his legs out of the water to the … [Read more...] about Teenager Claims Mysterious Sea Monsters Ate His Legs, Gruesome Photos Emerge

Carl Reiner Archive Of Scripts, Photos & Mel Brooks TV Dinner Trays Donated To National Comedy Center

· March 19, 2021 ·

Scripts, notes, photos, film, correspondence and other numerous other artifacts of the late Carl Reiner – some stretching back to Your Show of Shows, The Dick Van Dyke Show and earlier – have been donated by Reiner’s family to the National Comedy Center where a new multi-media exhibit on the comedy icon is planned for 2022. The National Comedy Center, located in Jamestown, New York, also announced that the organization’s archive department will be renamed The Carl Reiner Department of Archives and Preservation. Reiner was a founding Advisory Board member for the Comedy Center. “People called our father a comic genius, and his gift was his ability to transform discomfort or pain into pleasure and fun,” said Reiner’s children Annie, Lucas Reiner and filmmaker Rob Reiner in a statement. “His humor made people feel good, starting with those of us around him, and then pretty much the whole world. He would be so thrilled to know that the National Comedy Center’s archives … [Read more...] about Carl Reiner Archive Of Scripts, Photos & Mel Brooks TV Dinner Trays Donated To National Comedy Center

Kimbal Musk’s Quest to Start One Million Gardens

· March 20, 2021 ·

On the day he almost died, Kimbal Musk had food on the brain. The internet startup whiz, restaurateur, and younger brother of Tesla’s Elon had just arrived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, from a 2010 TED conference where chef Jamie Oliver had spoken about the empowerment that could come from healthy eating. This was something Musk thought about a lot — food’s untapped potential, how he might be a disruptor in the culinary space — but beyond expanding his farm-to-table ethos along with his restaurant empire, Musk hadn’t yet cracked the code. Then he went sailing down a snowy slope on an inner tube going 35 miles an hour and flipped over, snapping his neck. The left side of his body was paralyzed. Doctors told the father of three that he was lucky: Surgery might bring movement back. Sundance 2015: Inside the Hip-Hop Doc ‘Fresh Dressed’

· January 23, 2015 ·

The documentary Fresh Dressed opens with vintage footage from a 1984 television pilot for a show called Graffiti Rock , which would have been hip-hop ’s answer to Soul Train and a pop-cultural goldmine had it ever made it out of the incubation period. Instead, there was only the one episode, hosted by Basquiat cohort Michael Holman and featuring a performance by Run-DMC (with young Debi Mazar and Vincent Gallo dancing in the audience). It’s the perfect starting point, however, for director Sacha Jenkins’ treasure trove of a doc, in which the music journalist and co-founder of ego trip magazine sets out to explore the evolution of hip-hop through the lens of fashion. In the process, he exposes the racism and classism at the root of so much creativity, and the crucial role that style played for anyone in poor and underprivileged communities who aspired to more. Such a conversation would not be complete without the artists and moguls who embody hip-hop’s ultimate triumph — … [Read more...] about Sundance 2015: Inside the Hip-Hop Doc ‘Fresh Dressed’

Inside the Best Pot Party in California

· May 25, 2017 ·

I knew the edibles were kicking in when I felt the mountain move. “Can you feel the ground pushing back up against your legs?” the woman guiding us had asked. It sounded so ridiculous at first, the idea that the land had a life of its own, and was pressing upwards – until it didn’t, all of a sudden. My eyes were closed, and I was lying supine on a green yoga mat atop a hillside in Malibu. I realized a swell of energy was radiating out from the Earth’s core, all the way to the backsides of my legs. This, the “Touch” station, was only the beginning. It was a balmy Saturday evening, and I was exploring the future of marijuana-enhanced leisure activity at an event called Immersion, a series of experiences highlighting each of the five senses, at a chic house overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Before the night was up, the 75 or so guests would dine blindfolded, get lost in a sound bath, paint their essences, inhale essential oils, and, yes, become deeply in touch with the mountain — all … [Read more...] about Inside the Best Pot Party in California
