EXCLUSIVE: Paramount + has released the official trailer for season two of the adult animated series Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head . The first two episodes will premiere April 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and in Australia and the U.K. on Friday, April 21, with further international markets to follow. In the second season, Beavis and Butt-Head return as, natch , two guys who like things that are cool and hate things that suck. Created and voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters originated in Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball , which was broadcast by MTV’s animation showcase “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997. Mike Pence must testify before a grand jury about his conversations with Donald Trump , forcing the former vice president to comply with a subpoena issued as part of a special counsel investigation of efforts to overturn the election on January 6 . CNN, citing unnamed sources, broke the news of Judge James Boasberg’s decision, and it was quickly confirmed by other outlets. According to CNnNand other outlets, the judge ruled in a sealed order that even though Pence has to appear before a grand jury, he could decline to answer questions related to his actions on January 6. Pence had argued that he was immune under the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause, given that he was serving as president of the Senate in overseeing the counting of the electoral votes. The ever-surprising case of Adnan Syed , whose murder conviction was examined in a massively popular season of the podcast Serial , has taken another stunning turn: The 2022 vacation of his conviction has been overturned on appeal. According to The Washington Post, a Maryland appellate court panel today reinstated Syed’s conviction in the 1999 murder of his high school girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Syed, 17 at the time of the murder, was convicted of the crime in 2000, but in a surprising twist last year Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn vacated the conviction due to problems in how prosecutors had turned over evidence to defense attorneys before the original trial. An attorney for bankrupt movie theater chain Cineworld said today it has “several” interested parties eyeing its business in “rest of world” — meaning Israel and Europe outside the UK — but nothing pending for the entire company, or, it seems for Regal in the U.S. Final bids are due April 10, said Joshua Sussberg of Kirland Ellis. Two strategic suitors potentially were interested in the full company, but the offers were too lowball to consider moving forward with. Meanwhile, he said, a comprehensive restructuring plan is close to being ready as Regal, its lenders and unsecured creditors are “dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.” Sussberg said he hoped a plan might be filed as soon as Wednesday.
