‘Love Is Blind’ Producer Red Arrow Studios Takes $55M Hit To Revenue During Pandemic
Red Arrow Studios , the production group owned by German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 , took a €46 million ($55M) hit to its revenue in 2020 after the coronavirus pandemic halted production around the world. Red Arrow-owned Kinetic Content landed a big Netflix hit in the shape of Love Is Blind , but it was ultimately an unsettled year for the production empire amid Covid-19. ProSiebenSat.1 shelved plans to sell the company because of the pandemic, while the producer’s CEO James Baker was among a number of senior executive departures. Red Arrow is now overseen by a ProSieben advisory board. According to ProSieben’s full-year earnings, Red Arrow’s total revenue fell 6% from €730M in 2019 to €684M last year. Adjusted EBITDA dropped 12.6% to €42M. Revenue picked up in Q4 last year, when sales hit €235M, compared with €222M in 2019. EMMYS: ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Creator Lashes Out At TV Academy & ‘Glee’ Over Snub
The always unfiltered Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter took to Twitter today to vent over the fact that his hit FX series did not land a single Emmy nomination . That included a snub of co-star (and Sutter’s wife) Katey Sagal , who won a Golden Globe for her role on the show in January. “The worse part of not getting an Emmy nod — Katey promised me a threesome if she won. Now I have to settle for me, her and the shaved bunny,” Sutter tweeted, adding, “The worse part of not getting any Emmy nods is all the wasted blowjobs I gave at the Academy picnic. My breath still smells like sour ammonia… Because you know if we were nominated I’d be all humble and blowing smoke up their asses. Now I can stay true to myself and just be a dick.” Last summer, Sutter called the Emmy voting system “flawed.” Most of his barbs today were directed at the TV Academy and its relatively high median age, which he blames for his show’s snub. “Most Emmy voters think Quinn … [Read more...] about EMMYS: ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Creator Lashes Out At TV Academy & ‘Glee’ Over Snub
