Nick Alexander, who worked Eagles of Death Metal ’s merchandise table during the group’s European tour, was among the 118 people killed in the terror attack at Paris’ Bataclan , Alexander’s family confirmed in a statement. He was 36. “It is with huge sorrow that we can confirm that our beloved Nick lost his life at the Bataclan last night. Nick was not just our brother, son and uncle; he was everyone’s best friend – generous, funny and fiercely loyal,” Alexander’s family said. “Nick died doing the job he loved and we take great comfort in knowing how much he was cherished by his friends around the world. UPDATE: Contrary to media reports stating a member of Eagles of Death Metal was killed in the Paris terrorist attacks , a representative for the group tells Rolling Stone that there were no fatalities within the band. Eagles of Death Metal are assessing the situation following a mass shooting that took place at their concert at Paris’ Bataclan Friday night. “We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew,” the group wrote in a statement on Facebook . “Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation.” Earlier in the evening, the mother and wife of drummer Julian Dorio both told The Washington Post that he’d told them the group had made it out of the venue. “He called to say that he loved me and he was safe,” wife Emily said. “Everyone on stage was able to get off.” Mother Mary Lou reported similar news to the paper, claiming that the fates of several crew members was unclear. Veteran politician and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi passed away today (August 7, 2018), much to the shock of his followers. The DMK patriarch was admitted to a noted hospital in Chennai a few days after his health showed a decline. He showed signs of improvement initially, but his health deteriorated on Monday (August 6, 2018) and this led to his death. Interestingly, Karunanidhi was an integral part of the Tamil film industry as well. Before entering politics, he worked as a scriptwriter and gave the Tamil film industry some of its most memorable films. CEN A tragic end to what was supposed to be an exciting stunt -- after a father miscalculated his cliff jump -- leading to his death as his family watched in horror. The video is tough to watch, you see the man take a leap from the 100-foot cliff in Spain. Clearly, he knows something is wrong quickly, letting out a scream before clipping the jagged rock and hitting the water ... you hear the woman recording yell, "Oh my God!" CEN According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin , the woman recording was the man's wife -- his son was also present -- and they had rented a boat for the day to tour the rocks on one of the Malgrats Isles by Santa Ponsa. Gunnar Hansen -- who terrorized actress Marilyn Burns as Leatherface in the original " Texas Chainsaw Massacre " -- says Burns appeared skinny and frail in recent years ... and appeared to be in declining health before her death. Hansen tells TMZ ... he and Burns remained close after the 1974 horror flick, and says her health issues were obvious to him in the last few years.
