EXCLUSIVE: Tony Goldwyn is taking over for Liev Schreiber in Warner Bros .’ King Richard which is set to return to production in Los Angeles next week after pausing due to the pandemic earlier this spring. Goldwyn is stepping in to play the role of Paul Cohen, a noted tennis coach whose clients included John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, and Venus and Serena Williams. I understand that Schreiber had to depart King Richard given a scheduling conflict. The Reinaldo Marcus Green directed, Zach Baylin written feature follows the true story of hardscrabble, but iron-willed father of Venus and Serena Williams, (played by Will Smith ) who had a plan to make his daughters the greatest tennis players in the world. EXCLUSIVE: Following a lengthy search, Paramount has tapped King Richard ’s Reinaldo Marcus Green to direct its Bob Marley movie for the studio. Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley and Cedella Marley will produce on behalf of Tuff Gong. Robert Teitel will also produce. Bob Marley died of cancer in 1981 at age 36 but in that short lifetime he changed the landscape of music, introducing generations to reggae with such hit songs as “Get Up, Stand Up,” “One Love,” “No Woman, No Cry,” “Could You Be Loved,” “Buffalo Soldier,” “Jammin” and “Redemption Song.” “Bob Marley’s music lives on in all of us. History Channel Expands ‘That Built’ Franchise, Orders Protest Doc From Kareem Abdul-Jabbar & Moves Bill Clinton Series To 2022
History is doubling down on its “That Built” franchise with four spinoffs. This comes after A+E Networks cable net launched the second season of The Food That Built America. Elsewhere, the network has ordered a protest documentary from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and moved its Bill Clinton series to 2022. History is launching The Machines That Built America , The Toys That Built America , The Engineering That Built the World and The Titans That Built America . All, except the latter, come from Six West Media, the non-fiction producer owned by A+E Networks.
