Broadway’s legendary Angela Lansbury will receive the 2022 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, the Tony Awards Administration Committee announced today. “Angela Lansbury’s contributions to the stage are insurmountable,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League and Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing. “From her groundbreaking role in Mame to her iconic performances in Deuce and Sweeney Todd , and most recently, in the revival of A Little Night Music , Ms. Lansbury has given us a lifetime of unforgettable performances, and it is a great honor to present her with the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award.” Lansbury made her Broadway debut in 1957 in Hotel Paradiso , followed by A Taste of Honey (1960), Anyone Can Whistle (1964), and, winning her first Tony, Mame (1966).  She also won Tonys for Dear World (1969), Gypsy (1974) and Sweeney Todd (1979). Director Emily Atef ’s Cannes Un Certain Regard drama More Than Ever is a careful, fastidious, Tradition of Quality film about impending death that’s easy to admire but won’t exactly pack ‘em in. Vicky Krieps impresses yet again, here playing a woman in her early 30s suffering from a likely fatal condition who travels from France to the fjords of Norway to try to come to terms with her unfair lot in life. It’s an entirely respectable and honorable piece about facing your own demise far before your expected time, but still the kind of thing most people would rather not think about. In Europe in particular, the film will be remembered as the last feature to star the popular French actor Gaspard Ulliel , who died in a skiing accident on January 19. Being a reality star might be too much work for Mema from "Hollywood Hillbillies" -- the 70-year-old had to be rushed to the hospital while she was in NYC to promote her Reelz TV show. We're told Mema was leaving her hotel Thursday when she fell ill. Her grandson and manager David Weintraub found her walking out of the lobby to hail a cab that would take her to the ER. Mema's temp was 104. She spent the night at the hospital and doctor's think the 12-hour-days media tour was just too much for her. Katt Williams was FURIOUS when Oakland police arrested him Thursday morning ... so furious he threatened to cancel his show in O-Town today over the experience -- and TMZ has the arrest footage. TMZ broke the story ... Katt was busted outside Kimball's Carnival in East Oakland around 3AM after allegedly hitting someone in the head with a bottle at a nearby hotel. Kanye West will not be charged with assaulting a photographer -- in an alleged incident that went down just hours ago in the UK. West was arrested at a hotel in Gateshead, England early this morning after allegedly getting into a tussle with a photog on his way out of the Tup Tup nightclub in Newcastle. After a short investigation, West was released from police custody without charges. FYI -- The person alleging the assault made the same claim against a famous British soccer player around a month ago -- but the charges were ruled to be unfounded in that case as well. UPDATE: TMZ just spoke with the photog -- who claims Kanye did, in fact, smash his face in around 2AM London time. According to the snapper, it all went down when Kanye was leaving the club with 4 girls, upset that he was being captured on film. Isaiah Lee, the 23-year-old accused of attacking Dave Chappelle on stage earlier this month, recalled his backstage meeting with the comedian in a new interview with The New York Post . Lee said Chappelle asked him why he tackled him during a stand-up set at the Hollywood Bowl, to which Lee said, “I told him my mother and grandmother, who fought for his civil rights to be able to speak, would be upset at the things he said.” According to Lee, Chappelle replied, “Now your story will die with you, son.” Lee then noted, “But he’s wrong. I’m sitting here talking to you about it.” Lee’s version of the conversation came after Chappelle offered his side at a stand-up show after the attack. According to Chappelle, Lee said that his grandmother was being forced out of her Brooklyn neighborhood because of gentrification, and he hoped to draw attention to her story.
