EXCLUSIVE: CBS Studios is developing The Mysterious Mortons , a detective drama series for CBS from Amy Rardin ( Charmed ), George Northy ( Charmed ), and Laurie Zaks ( Castle) , Deadline has learned. The show follows a homicide detective who enlists his quirky family of mystery writers to assist him in cracking the cases that perplex the authorities. Rardin and Northy will serve as writers and executive producers; Zaks executive produces under her banner Rosewood TV. Rardin is currently an executive producer/writer on Amazon/Temple Hill’s Teton . She previously served as head writer and co-executive producer on Marvel/Disney+’s Echo , and co-creator/executive producer on the reboot of Charmed for the CW.  She also served as co-executive producer and writer for four seasons of Jane The Virgin for the CW and began her staffing career on ABC Family’s Greek . Motion Picture Corporation of America , the Brad Krevoy -led producer of shows like Hallmark Channel’s When Calls The Heart , has hired two senior executives and re-upped a third. Jennifer Provencher , a former Netflix exec, has been named SVP of Business Affairs. She will focus on business and legal affairs for MPCA films and series. In addition to her post as Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Netflix, Provencher was previously VP, Business and Legal Affairs for Shine America, now known Endemol Shine North America. Courtney Colman has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. She has been CFO at multiple companies, among them XPRIZE Foundation, Mob Scene and Gold Circle Films and before that was SVP Finance & Business Development at CBS Films and VP Participations at Sony Pictures Entertainment. EXCLUSIVE: David Terry and Miguel Pinzon have joined Season 5 of Freeform ‘s Good Trouble in recurring roles. Pinzon will play Ethan, a former friend of Davia’s (Emma Hunton) from her days in New York who is in L.A. workshopping a musical he wrote. Terry will play Brayden, an actor and one of the musical’s three stars. Their first appearance will be in Episode 3, which airs March 30. Good Trouble follows the residents of downtown Los Angeles’ The Coterie as they juggle career, love and friendship and learn that standing up for what you believe in requires making a little noise and getting into trouble. The series stars Cierra Ramirez, Zuri Adele, Sherry Cola, Tommy Martinez, Hunton, Josh Pence, Beau Mirchoff, Bryan Craig and Priscilla Quintana. Maia Mitchell left at the end of Season 3.
