Mac Miller Death: Second Man Who Provided Fentanyl-Laced Pills Sentenced To 17 Years Behind Bars
UPDATED : A Westwood man was sentenced today to more than 17 years behind bars for his role in supplying the fentanyl-laced pills that led to rapper Mac Miller ’s fatal overdose four years ago. Stephen Walter was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Walter, 49, pleaded guilty last year to a federal count of distribution of fentanyl. In September 2018, Miller died of a drug overdose — namely, a fatal mixture of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol. Just a few days before the 26-year-old rapper’s death, Walter supplied the fentanyl that ultimately killed him. Two others were also charged. Ryan Reavis, 39, pleaded guilty to the distribution charge and was sentenced in April to almost 11 years behind bars. The case against Cameron Pettit, 30, of West Hollywood, is pending. The pills traveled from Walter to Reavis, who supplied the counterfeit oxycodone pills to the third defendant, according to papers filed in Los Angeles … [Read more...] about Mac Miller Death: Second Man Who Provided Fentanyl-Laced Pills Sentenced To 17 Years Behind Bars

Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Was Too ‘Obsessed With Dog Poop’ To Discuss Divorce During Blowout Fight
Amber Heard testified that Johnny Depp was too “obsessed with dog poop” to think about divorce during a fight in May 2016 that occurred just days before Heard officially filed papers to end their marriage. A sizable chunk of Heard’s testimony on Monday was dedicated to the circumstances surrounding a major fight between the former couple on May 21, 2016, just two days before Heard filed divorce papers. The incident occurred after Heard and Depp had not seen each other for a full month, with Heard testifying that Depp only got back in touch after the death of his mother. Heard testified that Depp had told her prior to their meeting, “I need my wife.” But when they finally saw one another, Heard said, Depp was fixated on the feces he’d found on his side of their bed the previous month. Depp has insisted that it was human feces, while Heard has claimed it came from one of their dogs, who was having medical issues. “I thought it was just a delusion he was having… I couldn’t … [Read more...] about Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Was Too ‘Obsessed With Dog Poop’ To Discuss Divorce During Blowout Fight
Ricky Gardiner, David Bowie and Iggy Pop’s Berlin-Era Guitarist, Dead at 73
Ricky Gardiner, the guitarist who played stinging, obtuse leads throughout Davie Bowie’s iconic Low and Iggy Pop ’s rowdy Lust for Life , has died at age 73. Tony Visconti, who co-produced Low , reported the news on Facebook , saying that Gardiner’s wife, Virginia, had notified him of the guitarist’s death. Gardiner had been battling Parkinson’s at the time of his death. “Dearest Ricky, lovely, lovely man, shirtless in your coveralls, nicest guy who ever played guitar,” Iggy Pop wrote on Twitter . “Thanks for the memories and the songs, rest eternal in peace.” Gardiner’s otherworldly solos define Low’s first side, giving elasticity to “What in the World,” a slinkiness to “Sound and Vision,” and heroic drama to “Be My Wife.” On Pop’s Lust for Life , which Bowie co-produced, Gardiner wrote the eerie, skanking music that accompanies “The Passenger” and he and Bowie co-wrote the raffish music for the supremely cheeky “Success” and the … [Read more...] about Ricky Gardiner, David Bowie and Iggy Pop’s Berlin-Era Guitarist, Dead at 73
Elise Stefanik Passes Loyalty Test to Dear Leader, Gets Leadership Spot
House Republicans elected Rep. Elise Stefanik to replace Rep. Liz Cheney as their House conference chair, the third top-ranking member of the caucus. Once a fierce Trump opponent known for bipartisanship, Stefanik pivoted during Trump’s impeachment to become one of his most avid defenders and a “rising star” in the party, according to the former president. Stefanik even earned Trump’s support for the leadership position. When Rep. Chip Roy entered the race, the former president issued a statement of support for Stefanik. “Can’t imagine Republican House Members would go with Chip Roy — he has not done a great job, and will probably be successfully primaried in his own district,” Trump said. “I support Elise, by far, over Chip!” In a statement following the vote, Stefanik promised to oppose the majority party: “House Republicans are united in our focus to fight on behalf of the American people to save our country from the radical Socialist Democrat agenda.” Stefanik’s … [Read more...] about Elise Stefanik Passes Loyalty Test to Dear Leader, Gets Leadership Spot
