Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ On Record-Breaking Box Office Spree In Comeback For Mega-Star

January 28, 2023 by deadline.com

Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan is back, and in a big way, as his action-packed espionage pic Pathaan has been breaking records for a Hindi title since debuting Wednesday in India and overseas. This also ends a lengthy hiatus from the big screen as a lead for SRK, and gives a boost to Bollywood which has had a rough run of late. Through Friday, the Yash Raj Films title has grossed 313 crore ($39M) globally. That makes it already the biggest opening weekend of a Bollywood title ever worldwide, with more to be added today and tomorrow. Expectations are that it ends up with around $40M in India through Sunday and $65M+ global which would land it among the top starts for any Indian title alongside RRR , Baahubali 2 and KGF 2 . Per Yash Raj, Pathaan has also set other new records: it is the fastest Hindi film to cross 300 crore (36.8M) worldwide and the first Hindi film to collect over 300 crore gross during the launch session. On Friday, Pathaan raked in … [Read more...] about Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ On Record-Breaking Box Office Spree In Comeback For Mega-Star

Bill Maher Confesses He Flies Private Call Calls Out Celebrity Hypocrisy

January 28, 2023 by www.tmz.com

Bill Maher has a confession -- something he's kept under wraps for years -- he flies private, and if anyone expresses outrage they can suck it, because they'd do it too if they could. The "Real Time" host bore down on climate change and how ridiculous the "everyone pitch in" concept has become. As Bill says, we gotta do something, but shopping with a laundry bag isn't gonna do the trick. Bill says, "Humans are not good people," and when asked to pitch in to save the environment, their response is, "What's in it for me?" Real Time with Bill Maher We are now talking about banning gas stoves, yet people are more than happy to pollute the earth with Amazon deliveries, because it's so damn convenient. Cell phones use more energy than refrigerators, but getting rid of your cellphone ... hahahahaha. Now the confession ... Bill Maher flies private. There it is -- he's a polluter/offender, but at least he's honest about it. Real Time with … [Read more...] about Bill Maher Confesses He Flies Private Call Calls Out Celebrity Hypocrisy

January 28, 2023 by deadline.com

Earlier this week, James Cameron ’s Avatar : The Way of Water became the No. 5 highest-grossing movie ever worldwide, and, as expected, has now surfed to the No. 4 position on the all-time chart. In so doing, it leaves Star Wars: The Force Awakens in its wake with nearly $2.075B globally. Through Friday, the worldwide gross on the 20th Century Studios / Disney /Lightstorm epic Avatar sequel is $2,074.8M , overtaking Force Awakens ’ $2.071B. This means that Cameron has three of the top four movies ever globally alongside the original Avatar at No. 1 and Titanic at No. 3. Avatar: The Way of Water will top Titanic in the coming week or so on a global basis. However, Paramount is doing a Titanic domestic rerelease in time for Valentine’s Day, and Disney is also handling offshore before Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania gets going, so there could be some jockeying ahead as we noted on Thursday. For Disney, the recent Avatar milestones mean … [Read more...] about ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ Moves Up To No. 4 Biggest Movie Ever Global, Leaving ‘Force Awakens’ In Its Wake
