EXCLUSIVE : The BBC has told 10 of its most seasoned news anchors that they have lost their prestige presenting roles on the broadcaster’s rolling news channel. Deadline can reveal that journalists including Jane Hill, Martine Croxall, and Ben Brown were informed yesterday that they will not be among the chief presenters on a relaunched BBC News channel. The BBC is combining its international and domestic news channels into a single offering as the corporation bids to cut costs and reinvent its output for a digital age. The merger has been rumbling on for months, but in a single day 10 presenters were effectively told that their services are not required when the merged channel launches around April. Jess Brammar, editor of the news channels, phoned around presenters to deliver the news. Annita McVeigh, Geeta Guru-Murthy, and Shaun Ley are also among the unlucky presenters. EXCLUSIVE: Animation studio Snipple Originals has won a mega Sky Kids order for a pre-school singalong show. The Singalings will air on the new Sky Kids linear channel later this year and is one of the first shows to emerge from the original content arm of Snipple Animation . The show, which kicks off each episode with a song, centers on three inquisitive and eager extra-terrestrials who are here to discover all they can about Earth, visiting the zoo, the beach and a funfair. It is comprised of 26 x 1 ’45’ songs,  26 x  5’ episodes, 2 x song compilations and 5 x episode compilations. EXCLUSIVE: Magnify Media sales boss Anthony Appell is leaving the Handmade: Good with Wood distributor, with others changing roles as ITV Studios takes over the company’s catalog. Appell, who is Head of Sales and Co-Productions for the Plimsoll Productions-owned outfit, announced he is to exit his role on March 31 and Acquisitions and Operations Manager Emma Gosling has already departed, joining Belgian distributor Primitives this week. As of last year, ITV Studios owns factual powerhouse Plimsoll, which has owned Magnify since 2020. Deadline understands six full-time Magnify staff have been in consultation talks with ITV Studio’s sales arm. CEO Andrea Jackson has been appointed Creative Director of Factual Entertainment at Plimsoll Productions and at least one other exec is having advanced discussions over a new post within ITV.
