EXCLUSIVE : John Stamos is to explore the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr. in a new true crime podcast for Wondery . The Fuller House star and exec producer will produce and narrate The Grand Scheme: Snatching Sinatra , a series that looks at the circumstances of the 1963 kidnapping of Frank Sinatra’s son from Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. The series, which will launch on July 27, will uncover the event from the perspective of kidnapper Barry Keenan. EXCLUSIVE : Jamie Carmichael ( Black Book ) and Simon Mirren’s ( Criminal Minds ) London and Los Angeles-based production label Atlantic Nomad has closed a TV and film slate financing deal with Finland-based venture capital fund manager IPR.VC. The deal will provide overhead, development and production financing for the company, focusing on premium TV, with documentaries and feature films in consideration on a project-by-project basis. Atlantic Nomad says it currently has co-productions set up in the U.S., UK, Ireland, and Australia, and is currently exploring English language projects in France and Canada. IPR.VC has previously backed companies including U.S. genre specialist XYZ Films and Nordic animation firm Gigglebug Entertainment. Disney + has found the star for Seth Grahame-Smith’s supernatural anthology series Just Beyond in Mckenna Grace and Lexi Underwood . The series is based on the bestselling BOOM! Studios graphic novel from Goosebumps author R.L. Stine. Just Beyond is an eight-episode anthology series for Disney+ that tells astonishing and thought-provoking stories of a reality just beyond the one we know. Each episode introduces viewers to a new cast of characters who must go on a surprising journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes. Grace and Underwood will lead their respective-stand-alone episode, both directed by Marc Webb. Chad star and co- creator Nasim Pedrad will guest star in the Disney+ series. EXCLUSIVE: Chris McKay is in negotiations to direct and produce Universal Pictures’ Renfield , a monster movie centered on Dracula ’s familiar henchman and based on an original story outline from Robert Kirkman . McKay’s producing partner Samantha Nisenboim will be joining the project as executive producer. Ryan Ridley wrote the script. The film will be produced by Skybound Entertainment’s film team, including Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst. In the original Dracula novel, R.M. Renfield was an inmate at a lunatic asylum who was thought to be suffering from delusions but actually is a servant of Dracula. Plot details weren’t announced, but it’s believed to take place during the present day and is not a period piece. Comedian Bert Kreischer has found the force for his feature film The Machine as Mark Hamill has closed a deal to co-star in the Legendary film opposite Kreischer in the film inspired by his hit story. Kreischer and Judi Marmel are producing the project. Described as The Hangover meets Midnight Run , the film is a genre-bending comedy inspired by Bert’s real-life adventures and subsequent breakout stand-up routine “The Machine”, which has been viewed over 85 million times. Bert’s drunken past catches up with him 20 years down the road when he and his father are kidnapped by those Bert wronged 20 years ago while drunk on a college semester abroad in Russia.
