EXCLUSIVE : BBC One has given the greenlight to a second series of Alex Scott -hosted quiz show The Tournament from QI producer QITV . Along with STV Studios’ Bridge of Lies, which has also been greenlit, the show was one of two to win a competitive tender process last year to find the next generation of BBC quizzes, following in the footsteps of the likes of Richard Osman double Pointless and House of Games. Former England footballer Scott, a regular BBC presenter, oversees the knockout competition, where eight players battle each other on the Tournament Run in a series of tug-of-war quiz matches as they attempt to knock their opponents out of the game and steal their money. Only one player makes it to the end, when they have the chance to double their money on what is called the Golden Run. EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-nominated filmmakers Alex Fumero and Kareem Tabsch are partnering to form the production company Trojan Horse . The company will be based in Los Angeles and Miami. Deadline recently announced their latest project under the banner for Onyx, the limited docuseries Gigante , in collaboration with Don Francisco. Producing unscripted and scripted feature films, series, and podcasts, Trojan Horse recently co-produced the four-part docuseries Menudo: Forever Young , directed by Angel Manuel Soto and Kristofer Rios. The series is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival ahead of its June 23 release on HBO Max. Fumero executive produced the project. Red Water Entertainment will serve as a home for genre cinema from around the world, focused on bringing North American audiences high-quality cinema with no language or regional barriers. It will work primarily in the horror, science fiction and action genres, but will release films from the vast spectrum that the term ‘genre’ encompasses. “There’s a lot of wonderful genre cinema that never sees the light of day in North America, and I’m excited to help some of these films find the audiences they deserve,” said Federgreen. Ranveer Singh-starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which hit the theatrical screens on May 13, has failed to rake in big moolah at the box office. Helmed by Divyang Thakkar, the family entertainer marked the Hindi film debut of Shalini Pandey. Jayeshbhai Jordaar received mixed reviews from the critics and began its journey at the box office on a slow note with Rs 3.25 Crore. The Ranveer Singh film didn't register a major growth in its business over the weekend. After collecting Rs 3.25 Crore on Day 1, Jayeshbhai Jordaar minted Rs 4 Crore and Rs 4.25 Crore on Friday and Saturday. The total three-day box office collection now stands at Rs 12 Crore. Top Chef leads the field with five nominations for the fourth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards, which were announced today. Netflix scooped a dozen noms to top all networks and platforms.
