Help Sunny Day Real Estate’s Dan Hoerner Save Washington Club
Seattle rock outfit Sunny Day Real Estate might be in a state of flux, but guitarist Dan Hoerner is still passionate about the Washington music scene. In an effort to save legendary Spokane venue The Big Dipper, Hoerner has started an IndieGoGo campaign with a target of $50,000. Random Notes 2014: Hottest Rock Pics After learning that The Big Dipper had fallen into shambles, Hoerner bought the downtown venue with his wife, Dawson Smith-Hoerner. They’ve spent the past seven months renovating the space, but they’re still in need of a full fire sprinkler system – which is where the crowdfunding comes into play. “Spokane needs to have The Big Dipper as part of the cityscape,” Hoerner said in a statement. “It’s like the goat at the park or the horses on the Carousel or Merlyn’s or the Flour Mill. . . You have to have that stuff around for Spokane to be Spokane. We think The Big Dipper needs to be a part of the fabric of our city and we want to bring it back to life.” … [Read more...] about Help Sunny Day Real Estate’s Dan Hoerner Save Washington Club

Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Was Too ‘Obsessed With Dog Poop’ To Discuss Divorce During Blowout Fight
Amber Heard testified that Johnny Depp was too “obsessed with dog poop” to think about divorce during a fight in May 2016 that occurred just days before Heard officially filed papers to end their marriage. A sizable chunk of Heard’s testimony on Monday was dedicated to the circumstances surrounding a major fight between the former couple on May 21, 2016, just two days before Heard filed divorce papers. The incident occurred after Heard and Depp had not seen each other for a full month, with Heard testifying that Depp only got back in touch after the death of his mother. Heard testified that Depp had told her prior to their meeting, “I need my wife.” But when they finally saw one another, Heard said, Depp was fixated on the feces he’d found on his side of their bed the previous month. Depp has insisted that it was human feces, while Heard has claimed it came from one of their dogs, who was having medical issues. “I thought it was just a delusion he was having… I couldn’t … [Read more...] about Amber Heard Says Johnny Depp Was Too ‘Obsessed With Dog Poop’ To Discuss Divorce During Blowout Fight
‘Better Call Saul’ Recap: Kim Reverts to a Life of Crime
A review of this week’s Better Call Saul , “Axe and Grind,” just as soon as we sidebar in the law library… “Relax. You got away with it.” —Kim’s mom What happens to Kim? This is a question I asked regarding the last Saul episode to feature young Kim (still played by Katie Beth Hall, with her hair pulled partially back, but not yet in the full power- ponytail of adult Kim) and Kim’s mom (Beth Hoyt, who still looks and sounds uncannily like Rhea Seehorn). That episode, “Wexler V. Goodman,” opened with young Kim walking away from her drunken mother rather than getting into a car with her. It closed with Kim explaining in great detail why she had every good reason to break up with Jimmy, only for her to declare at the last moment that perhaps they should get married instead. It was Kim’s weakness for hustlers and damaged people winning out over her understanding of what is good, both for her and the world at large. “Axe and Grind” begins a bit differently, though it … [Read more...] about ‘Better Call Saul’ Recap: Kim Reverts to a Life of Crime

The future of high-profile unscripted NBC series including Amy Poehler’s Making It and Kristen Bell’s Family Game Fight ! is up in the air as the network has indefinitely parked them. Making It, Family Game Fight and AGT: Extreme did not make it into NBC’s schedule and it seems that they are the latest non-scripted series to neither be canceled or renewed – in a growing trend as highlighted by Fox earlier this morning as well as ABC with series such as Supermarket Sweep and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? It comes as the network has revealed that two of its other big unscripted series The Wheel and Million Dollar Island will launch in midseason. Making It, which is co-hosted by Parks and Recreation stars Poehler and Nick Offerman, has run for three seasons on the network. The craft competition premiered in July 2018, its second season debuted in December 2019 and the third season launched in June 2021. The series comes from Universal … [Read more...] about Amy Poehler’s ‘Making It’, Kristen Bell’s ‘Family Game Fight!’ & ‘AGT: Extreme’ Parked Indefinitely As NBC Unveils Schedule
