Like a Las Vegas boxing match, CBS only had The Good Fight on for one night, but turns out The Good Wife spinoff doesn’t quite pack much of a punch – at least among adults 18-49. Premiering at 8 PM on Sunday with a special preview and starting with dismay at the inauguration of Donald Trump, the Christine Baranski-led legal drama snagged a soft 0.7/2 in the key demo. After last night, TGF will now only be seen on CBS All Access – which showed the second episode on Sunday too. While comparisons are a bit stretched, last night’s TGF debut was down 46% from the series finale of TGW ’s seven-season run on May 8 last year at 9 PM. It is also down 63% in the 18-49s from the September 22, 2014 launch of Madam Secretary in that 9 PM slot. To add one more stat, TGF dropped 30% from lead-in 60 Minutes (1.0/4) – which itself was down 20% from its pre-Grammy Awards position of last week. There were a number of winners at the 2022 Per fast affiliates, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards delivered an average 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.11 million viewers across its three-hour broadcast on NBC , slipping even lower from the previous year’s fast affiliates (0.7, 2.8M). Sunday’s awards ceremony, set at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, saw Rodrigo take home seven wins, Ye come in second place with six awards and Drake continue his streak as the artist with the most Billboard Music Awards of all-time. While nostalgia was expected to bring in eyeballs, no one predicted such a huge turnout on premiere night for the blue-collar family sitcom with a Donald Trump-supporting protagonist, especially among the younger demographic. But then, few predicted that Trump would become the Republican nominee and would win the presidential election when he first announced his candidacy. Following the massive ratings for the premiere of the Roseanne revival on ABC , the network has renewed the series for next season, which will be the classic sitcom’s 11th overall. ABC has picked up ensemble drama A Million Little Things for a fifth season. The network is not labeling Season 5 as final, but I hear it is expected to be the closing chapter of the DJ Nash-created series. It came down to the wire for A Million Little Things , whose core cast includes David Giuntoli, Romany Malco, Allison Miller, Christina Moses, Grace Park and James Roday Rodriguez.
