HGTV Star Christina Hall Preps OC Real Estate Series As She Bolsters Her Own Unbroken Production Slate
EXCLUSIVE : Christina Hall , star of numerous HGTV series, launched her own production company, Unbroken, last year, and she’s starting to bolster her slate. Hall, whose latest series Christina in the Country launched last week, and her husband Josh Hall teamed with Nancy Glass’s Glass Entertainment Group, the company behind Frozen In Time , to launch Unbroken Productions . Unbroken will work alongside Glass Entertainment banner Balthazar Entertainment, which produces Christina in the Country as well as Christina on the Coast , which launched its third season in December, on future series. CAA had the most clients on the 2017 Black List of the top unproduced screenplays in town, while Grandview took the same honor among management companies. The totals were tallied after The Black List organization released their annual rankings this morning. The field seemed more spread out than usual this year, with four agencies scoring 10 or more mentions on the annual list, with UTA taking bragging rights to the voting leader, Matthew Firpo and Ryan Firpo’s Ruin . WME and Verve had 12 mentions apiece, and UTA 10. On the management side, five companies — Grandview, Madhouse Entertainment , Kaplan/Perrone, Lee Stobby Entertainment and Bellevue Productions — had more than four clients among the 76 overall screenplays that made the cut this year. Jack Cutmore-Scott ( Kingsman, Deception ) has been tapped to star opposite Kelsey Grammer in Frasier , Paramount+’s sequel series to the classic NBC sitcom. Berlinale Series Unveils Eight World Premieres & TV Jury
Seven premiering productions will compete for the Berlinale Series Award next month, with one further world exclusive launch screening out of competition. Brian Tufano , the veteran British cinematographer who lensed films such as Trainspotting , Shallow Grave , and Billy Elliot , has died. He was 83. Tufano’s agents at McKinney Macartney Management confirmed the news with Deadline. Jon Wardle, Director of the UK’s National Film and Television School, where Tufano was previously a department head, also shared a tribute to the cinematographer on Twitter. “Very sorry to have to share that Cinematography legend and former @NFTSFilmTV Head of Department Brian Tufano has died,” the Tweet read. “He shot so many amazing films and did so much to champion new talent, in particular female DPs. We loved him and will REALLY miss him.” Tufano was born in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, in 1939.
