Season 3 of SYFY’s acclaimed series The Expanse sets a premiere date for early April, as a brand-new teaser trailer hints at the conflict to come. Last season, the interstellar series took the drama to new heights, as tensions between Earth, Mars, and the Belters rose, almost to the point of inciting nuclear war. Cooler heads ultimately prevailed, but the political climate within the solar system remains rife with conflict for the time being, especially now that Chrisjen Avasaraia (Shohreh Aghdashloo) has been attacked, and the crew of the Rocinante separating over what to do with the protomolecule sample. The new teaser doesn’t offer much in the way of new footage of the upcoming season, but instead it hints that as bad as things got in season 2, it’s likely only going to get worse. And it’s easy to see why. With news of the protomolecule making its way through the solar system and the various factions all vying for a piece of it, creating a new and … [Read more...] about The Expanse Season 3 Gets a Trailer and Premiere Date

Two of HBO’s newer comedies will continue to make audiences laugh as the premium channel announces Crashing and High Maintenance have both been renewed for season 3. The news comes as the series are currently airing, suggesting both have performed well enough for the cabler in their second seasons to warrant renewals before their respective finales next month. Both premiered in mid-January, with Crashing taking the coveted Sunday night spot after the Sarah Jessica Parker-led Divorce, while High Maintenance has staked a claim on Friday nights. Though the latter isn’t typically known as fertile ground for television shows, it has seemingly worked well for the series from co-creator Katja Blichfield and Ben Sinclair about a marijuana delivery man known simply as The Guy. The 10-episode second season has received generally high (sorry) marks, especially for its semi-anthological format, which offers new characters every episode (save Sinclair’s The Guy) as he ventures from … [Read more...] about Crashing & High Maintenance Renewed For Season 3
Hell is literally about to break loose in season 3 of Ash Vs. Evil Dead. The original Evil Dead is a grimy, no-budget horror movie made by a group of young filmmakers in the woods. It was also the debut of director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), who proved his talent at an early age by crafting an intense, gory ride with inventive camera work. The movie also made a star of B-movie icon Bruce Campbell, but it wasn’t until Evil Dead 2 the actor would be able to show off his comedy chops. The sequel is essentially a comedic remake of the original, and Campbell’s endearing turn as dimwitted, accidental hero Ash made him a fan favorite. The trilogy was capped off with Army Of Darkness, a studio project that toned down the gore for a PG-13 rating, yet had enough crazy effects and one-liners to keep fans happy. A fourth movie was rumored for over twenty years until it was confirmed the franchise was coming back as a STARZ TV series instead. The Agents of SHIELD season three finale featured two major deaths, heartbreaking choices, tons of action … and one shocking demotion. Six months after defeating Hive (Brett Dalton) and losing one of his agents, Lincoln (Luke Mitchell), it was revealed that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) is no longer the Director of SHIELD. In a flash-forward scene in which Coulson and Mack (Henry Simmons) tried to track down Daisy (Chloe Bennet) after she went rogue, an offhand comment between the two men revealed that Coulson is no longer in charge of the government organization he's dedicated his life to. The ABC Marvel drama didn't go any further with that storyline, instead choosing to leave fans hanging for the whole summer wondering who took over the position at the head of SHIELD. There are five characters who can be definitively ruled out as the new Director: Coulson, for obvious reasons; Mack, because Coulson told him to "call the Director" when they couldn't bring Daisy in; Daisy, … [Read more...] about ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Season 4: Who Is the New Director?
Hayley Atwell isn't done with Peggy Carter just yet. After landing the lead role in ABC drama pilot Conviction, diehard Agent Carter fans wondered if the star's new project meant a death sentence for the short-order Marvel drama. But as of now, Atwell and the network are committed to making both shows work. "That's something ABC has talked about a lot [with me]," Atwell tells THR. "If [Conviction and Agent Carter season three] both got picked up, then we'd work out some way where I could do both." Insiders say Conviction could be a limited series designed to accommodate Atwell's shooting schedule with the low-rated but critically adored short-order Agent Carter, but nothing has been officially announced yet. "I don't know the details of how that would work or when it would happen," Atwell says. "But they said that in the same sentence when they offered me Conviction which I was very flattered to get. But they also said this doesn't actually mean anything yet for Agent Carter. … [Read more...] about Hayley Atwell: ‘Agent Carter’ Finale Is “Satisfying,” Will Leave Door Open for Season 3
