During the AFC and NFC Championship Games yesterday, Warner Bros. debuted two new TV spots for the highly-anticipated Tomb Raider , which hits theaters nationwide on March 16. These TV spots showcase the origin adventure undertaken by a young Lara Croft, played by Oscar winner Alicia Vikander, with footage highlighting her meeting with the villain Mathias Vogel (Walton Goggins). He claims to see several distinct qualities of her missing father in Lara herself, such as his intelligence and recklessness. One video also includes a scene where Lara admits that she's not a "superhero," although some of her death-defying actions say otherwise. Hear Pop Smoke’s New Song ‘AP’ From Posthumous Film Role ‘Boogie’
The late rapper Pop Smoke ’s song, “AP,” has been released. The track is featured in the Eddie Huang-directed film, Boogie , and it will appear on the upcoming soundtrack. Boogie also marks Pop Smoke’s posthumous acting debut. He portrays Monk, one of the basketball rivals of the titular character who aspires to play in the NBA in the coming-of-age film. Boogie arrives in theaters on March 5th. The lyric video for “AP” showcases footage from the movie featuring the rapper as well as behind-the-scenes photos. “AP, Spicy/I bust a check in my Nikes,” he raps on the hook. “Am I a killa? EXCLUSIVE : In a lucrative play, ErosSTX International has closed a new output pact with Italian major Leone Film Group , the distributor behind box office hits including Knives Out and 1917 , marking their first output in the territory in a few years. The company has also renewed significant multi-year output deals with Roadshow Films in Australia and New Zealand, The Searchers in Belgium and the Netherlands, SF Studios in Scandinavia and Vertical Distribution in Eastern Europe. The Roadshow, Searchers, SF Studios and Vertical output deals were first struck in 2015 and together with the Leone output deal, are exclusive agreements covering all STX productions and acquisitions. Through Sunday, the Anthony and Joe Russo -helmed giant collected $866M at the international box office , topping the already colossal $859M projection. Although domestic numbers won’t be confirmed until midday Pacific time, they are on the upswing and help snap Endgame ’s global debut to $1.222B . With the updated figures, the 22nd MCU movie overtakes Iron Man 3 as the No. 17 film ever on the worldwide charts — after just five days in release.
