Zendaya , Adele , Pete Davidson , and dozens of others have been named in the 2022 TIME100 , an annual list of the 100 most influential people serving important roles in entertainment, politics, sports, and business, among other fields. The list is sorted into sections of artists, innovators, titans, leaders, icons, and pioneers. This year’s list features a mix of first-timers and recurring names alike, with Adele notching her third entry and President Joe Biden, who appears for the fifth time. The annual collection of names pairs off its selected recipients with other prominent figures for its blurb portion. EXCLUSIVE : Global superstar Ricky Martin is to lead Apple TV + comedy series Mrs. American Pie, Deadline can reveal. The news comes with the Puerto Rican Livin’ La Vida Loca star in Cannes preparing to perform at the American Foundation for Aids Research gala alongside the likes of Christina Aguilera later this week. Perry Farrell reunited Porno for Pyros for their fist full performance in 26 years at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona, Florida on Sunday, May 22. Farrell got the group — which also features Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefano, and Mike Watt — together in a pinch after Jane’s Addiction was forced to drop off the bill (Dave Navarro continues to struggle with a “long bout with Covid,” Farrell said in a statement ). While the band has reunited for a couple of small sets over the past decade or so — two songs at a 2009 event in Vegas, a short set for Lollapalooza’s 2020 pandemic livestream — the Welcome to Rockville gig marked their first actual concert since Sept. 1998. Some of the biggest Asian acts in the world will descend upon Southern California this August as label 88rising ’s Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival returns for a second year. Indonesian songwriter and producer NIKI, Hong Kong native Jackson Wang and his “Magic Man Experience,” and Indonesian rapper Rich Brian are among the headliners for the 2022 edition of Head in the Clouds, which takes place in Pasadena, California August 20 and 21 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. If you know George Miller primarily as the shock-comedy expert who helped make Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” go viral with a series of puerile hip thrusts in 2013, his new album under the name Joji might be evidence of one of the greatest transformations in modern pop culture. Ballads 1 is elegiac and prettily pout-faced; Miller used to make you cringe, Joji makes you cry. Like most transformations, this one wasn’t immediate. Miller started putting out music in 2014, initially under the name Pink Guy; he trafficked in rap that stuck close to the outrageously click-tastic videos he made as Filthy Frank. But soon he began to release more meditative, melodic songs, settling on the name Joji. In 2017, Joji put out In Tongues , a bruised, sensitive, one-note EP; he also issued an official statement ending Filthy Frank.
