EXCLUSIVE: AMC Networks is continuing its true-crime drive. The company’s SundanceTV has renewed Hilarie Burton Morgan ’s It Couldn’t Happen Here and has also ordered two new series as it ramps up its True Crime Story franchise. It Couldn’t Happen Here returns for a second season, hosted by One Tree Hill and The Walking Dead star Burton Morgan. Separately, it has ordered True Crime Story: Citizen Detective and Crimes of Entitlement (w/t). The three series will air on SundanceTV, AMC+ and SundanceNow. Citizen Detective is a documentary series that examines true-crime stories through the eyes of the untrained amateur sleuths who solved them or are still trying to do so. Each episode spotlights one new crime and the crime-fighter determined to make sure the case he or she is obsessed with is ultimately classified as closed. EXCLUSIVE: American Ninja Warrior will be back on NBC for a while. The competition format, which is produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions, returns this June for season 15 and has already been picked up for season 16. Hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila, along with co-host Zuri Hall, are back to call the action as the ninjas make their way through the qualifying and semifinal rounds in Los Angeles before moving to the national finals in Las Vegas. There are a number of new additions to the seasons including a Mega Wall with ninjas also racing side-by-side and head-to-head for the first time, marking the biggest changes to the show in its history. Production is currently underway on both seasons, with A. Smith & Co. filming the seasons back-to-back with select ninjas featured in both seasons. Grown-ish is coming to an end at Freeform . The series upcoming sixth season will be its last. Season 6 will air in two parts, with the first half premiering this summer. Season 6B will air in 2024. The series plans to welcome some big guest stars for the final season, including Lil Yachty, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals. During Season 6, Grown-ish will also hit its 100th episodes. Freeform recently underwent a regime change , as Tara Duncan relinquished her duties to focus on Onyx Collective, and Simran Sethi took charge of the youth-skewing cable network in addition to her ABC duties. However, Deadline hears that the decision to end Grown-ish was a creative one that wasn’t impacted by the change in leadership. Actor Jeremy Renner will sit down with Diane Sawyer for an hour-long special in his first televised interview since he was severely injured in a New Year’s Day snowplow accident. The ABC News interview special is titled Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview – A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph and will air April 6. In the highly emotional two-minute teaser for the interview, Renner can be seen sitting with Sawyer as they discuss the severity of the injuries he suffered after the accident, which included eight ribs broken in 14 places as well as a collapsed lung and a pierced liver. “I chose to survive,” Renner tells Sawyer near the end of the clip. “You’re not going to kill me. No way.” The clip also shows early footage of Renner in the hospital with his family following the accident as well as the actor walking months after the accident with supportive aid.
