Star sprinter Hima Das was appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Assam Police (DSP) in the presence of Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday (February 26, 2021). While addressing the gathering after her induction as DSP, Hima said, "People here know and I am not going to say anything different. Since my early school days, I harboured a wish to become a police officer one day and my mother also wished that. California Getting 380,000 Doses Of One-Shot Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Next Week, Says Gov. Gavin Newsom
On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state will receive a large shipment of the one shot Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine. “The three-week preview we that were given by the Biden Administration: 380,300 next week, the week after and the week after. So it’s consistent.” said the governor. “By the way, they update that allocation every week, so those numbers are subject to change.” NEW: CA is expecting 380,000 doses of the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine as early as next week. M ike Love bounds up the stairs inside his massive Lake Tahoe home (10 bedrooms in all, 12 bathrooms, two elevators, not to be believed) and into a large walk-in closet stuffed to overflowing with garish, multicolored shirts and a gazillion baseball caps, many of them emblazoned with the name of his band, the Beach Boys . A suitcase rests on the floor. Love nods at it, prods it with his foot. “A lot more shirts are in there,” he says, “because, if you must know, I haven’t unpacked.” And why should he unpack? For the past 54 years, he and various versions of the Beach Boys , which these days include only him as an original member, have toured almost constantly. NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde Sets Goal Of 50% Diverse Workforce
Cesar Conde , the new chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, outlined a workforce goal of 50% diversity on Tuesday, telling employees that as “a news organization we have a unique responsibility to reflect the country and all of the communities we serve.” “The NBCUniversal News Group is not going to wait for change to happen and just react to it. We’re going to lead,” he said in a video to employees on Tuesday. “As a news organization, we have a unique responsibility to look like and reflect all of the people of the country we serve.” He said that the goal is for 50% of the news organization employees to be women and 50% of their total workforce be people of color, with plans to boost recruitment and education programs and to invest in more documentaries and investigative content focusing on communities of color. The 50% goal is long term, with no exact date set to reach it, but he said that progress would be reported publicly every year.
