The Nashville mass shooter was reportedly torn up over the death of a close friend months before unleashing a murderous attack at a Christian school. Audrey Hale was totally devastated after Sydney Shere Sims was killed in a car crash in August, former classmate Samira Hardcastle told NBC News. Hale "definitely admired" Sims as they together attended Isaiah T. Creswell Middle School of the Arts and the Nashville School of the Arts, Hardcastle said. Maria Colomy , one of Hale's former teachers at another school, recalled that Sims' untimely death was an emotional wrecking ball for her former student.
