Former NBA star Jalen Rose was just sentenced to serve 20 days in jail -- four months after he crashed his car into a ditch during an alleged drunk driving incident in Michigan back in March. Disneyland Fight Combatant Gets Six Months; Arrest Warrants Issued For Others Who Skipped Court Date
A man who was seen beating family members in the viral video of a fight at Disneyland in July pleaded guilty today and immediately was sentenced to six months in jail. Two others involved in the brawl failed to appear for their court date in Fullerton, and warrants have been issued for their arrest. Avery Robinson of Las Vegas pleaded guilty to one felony count and multiple misdemeanors in a plea deal with Orange County prosecutors. He originally faced five felony charges and nine misdemeanors over the fight at the Anaheim park. His sister, Andrea Robinson, and her husband, Daman Petrie, both of Compton, failed to appear before Orange County Superior Court Judge Scott Steiner and now are fugitives from justice. She was charged with five misdemeanors, and he faced one misdemeanor count of battery. The couple also missed their arraignment in September. Marquise Brown pleaded guilty to an excessive speeding charge on Wednesday ... six months after cops accused the NFL star of going 126 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. UPDATED with content spend stats from annual report: Giant Amazon said its total expenses for video and music came to $16.6 billion last year, up from $13 billion in 2021. Video and music expense includes licensing and production costs associated with content offered within Amazon Prime memberships, and costs associated with digital subscriptions and sold or rented content, according to the company’s latest annual report that followed fourth quarter financials yesterday. On an earnings call Thursday, CFO Brian Olsavsky noted that Amazon spent $7 billion on originals, live sports and licensed content in 2022, up from $5 billion the year before. It’s unclear if those figures include all worldwide video content, which is increasingly central to Amazon’s strategy in driving membership for Prime, the biggest loyalty program in the world and the beating heart of the company. ‘Billions’ Spinoffs In Works At Showtime; ’Dexter’ Prequel Confirmed
Chris McCarthy has been speaking about a franchise strategy for Showtime since he took over the network a couple of months ago. That strategy will include expanding successful series with multiple spinoffs in the mold of the Yellowstone universe as the premium cable network starts its integration with Paramount+ and getting a new moniker , Paramount+ with Showtime. Deadline has been hearing for awhile about potential Billions offshoots from series co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien.
