The power of the Trump endorsement is waning and nowhere was it more apparent than last night’s Georgia Republican primary runoffs. The former president has struggled to translate his endorsements into victories for a GOP seeking electoral gains in the 2022 midterm elections. Trump’s endorsement has been a boon for some primary candidates — most notably J.D. Vance in Ohio — but it’s far from a golden ticket as the party works to find common ground between factions bitterly divided over the future of American conservatism. In Georgia, Trump-backed candidates floundered in their runoff elections. In GA-10, former Democratic state representative-turned Trump Republican Vernon Jones was trounced by Mike Collins, suffering a nearly 50-point loss. In GA-06, the Trump endorsement more than failed to pull Jake Evans across the finish line. He lost by more than 40 points to Rich McCormick. In Alabama’s Republican primary runoff, former lobbyist Katie Britt defeated … [Read more...] about Trump-Endorsed Candidates Can’t Stop Losing Primaries

Feds Raid Home of DOJ Official Trump Wanted to Elevate to Help Overturn Election
Federal authorities on Wednesday raided the Virginia home of former Trump Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark as part of the Justice Department’s investigation into the push to overturn the results of the 2020 election. News of the raid was reported Thursday afternoon and confirmed by a U.S. attorney’s office spokesperson. Clark is a key player in Trump’s effort to leverage the Justice Department to help him stay in office. Investigators believe Clark may have used his former position as an assistant attorney general for the environment and natural resources to persuade election officials in battleground states to change their states’ results in favor of Trump. According to The New York Times , in Dec. 2020 Clark helped draft a letter to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp baselessly claiming that the Justice Department had identified “significant concerns” about election results in Georgia, and advised Kemp to create “a separate slate” of electoral college electors … [Read more...] about Feds Raid Home of DOJ Official Trump Wanted to Elevate to Help Overturn Election

GOP Rep. Asked for Trump to Pardon All 147 Republicans Who Voted to Overturn Election
The Jan. 6 committee displayed a bombshell email on Thursday revealing that Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) emailed the White House five days after the attack on the Capitol asking for a pardon for himself and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), as well as “every Congressman and Senator who voted to reject the electoral college vote submissions of Arizona and Pennsylvania.” The blanket pardon would have preemptively exonerated the 147 Republicans who voted against the certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory in the event that wrongdoing was discovered in subsequent investigations. So far, the year 2022 hasn't been kind to the Hindi Film Industry both in terms of the reviews as well as the box office numbers. With the audience turning towards pan-India releases like SS Rajamouli's period magnum opus RRR and Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 to quench their thirst for escapist, larger than life cinema, Bollywood saw more misses than hits. At the moment, Raj Mehta's Jugjugg Jeeyo is also faring decently when compared to some of the major disappointments this year.
