Associated Press Published 2:39 PM EDT Mar 17, 2019 New York – The commissioner of the New York Police Department is thanking law enforcement in Florida after the arrest of a suspect in a 1999 shooting of an off-duty police officer. Commissioner James O’Neill tweeted his appreciation Sunday for Jacksonville police and U.S. marshals in the arrest of Lester Pearson. Local television stations in Jacksonville reported Pearson, 43, was taken into custody Friday morning in connection to the death of Officer Vincent Ling, who was off-duty at the time of the shooting and subsequently died. Authorities said he had been living in Florida under a false name. PIERS Morgan fears Michael Jackson could have been a 'serial abuser' after sharing a 1999 interview with the singer on Good Morning Britain. The 53-year-old presenter interviewed the King of Pop during his time as a newspaper editor. On today's show, Piers shared audio from the chat, in which Michael, who died in 2009, said: "If it wasn't for children I would throw in the towel, I wouldn't care to live, I would kill myself.
