The DCEU might be done with Jared Leto Joker movie projects for the time being. According to sources, the Joker & Harley Quinn movie, along with the DCEU solo Joker project, aren't happening anymore, or if they are, they aren't a major priority. Margot Robbie's Birds of Prey is currently filming and Jared Leto is in the U.K. preparing to start work on Sony's Morbius the Living Vampire. Many believe that Leto is finished playing the Clown Prince of Crime, though that has yet to be confirmed. It appears that the Joker & Harley Quinn movie, along with the DCEU solo Joker project have "fallen by the wayside" at Warner Bros. The studio has a massive success on its hands with James Wan's Aquaman and looking to move forward, away from the connected DCEU projects. Along with Wonder Woman 1984, Shazam!, and Aquaman 2, the studio is preparing to launch Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, which is said to be a much different take on the iconic villain. In other words, the future is looking bright … [Read more...] about Joker & Harley Quinn Team-Up Movie No Longer Happening in the DCEU?
x Earlier today, Forbes published a report under the headline “Why The Future Of DCEU Movies Looks Brighter Than Ever,” and amongst the various insights offered in the piece is the suggestion that this future won’t contain a whole lot of Jared Leto’s Joker. In the midst of discussing James Gunn’s plans for The Suicide Squad, which is apparently unlikely to see the return of Harley Quinn, the report adds that the previously planned Joker and Harley film has “fallen by the wayside,” and that the same can be said for the Joker solo movie. Given how long it’s been since we’ve heard any encouraging announcements about either of those projects, the news certainly doesn’t come as particularly surprising, but perhaps the larger implication of these claims is that Leto’s run as the Joker might already be finished. We’ve got an update to share with you in regard to some of the DC film projects that involve Jared Leto’s Joker and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. According to Forbes, Jared Leto’s standalone Joker film and The Joker Vs. Harley Quinn have both been scrapped by Warner Bros., and the future of Robbie’s Harley Quinn all hinges on the success of Birds of Prey. If it’s a hit, then I’m sure we’ll see her again, if it bombs, then you all know what will happen. Also, don’t expect to see Harley show up in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. There were a few reports out there saying that we could see a few familiar faces from the first Suicide Squad movie return, but that is not the case. The movie will be a complete overhaul of the franchise and will in no way tie into the first film. The report also addresses the rumor about Gotham City Sirens and Birds of Prey crossing over for a Gotham City Sirens v Birds of Prey movie saying those … [Read more...] about Jared Leto’s JOKER Movies Scraped and Harley Quinn Will Not Appear in James Gunn’s THE SUICIDE SQUAD
11 minutes ago I think we can all agree that The Joker is one of the greatest villains in the history of fiction, and that he's welcome on TV as often as possible. Beyond Gotham's current "Is he?/Isn't he?" debate, the Clown Prince of Crime is next set to show up on DC Universe's upcoming Harley Quinn series, with Alan Tudyk providing the villain's voicework opposite Kaley Cuoco. The esteemed actor has revealed his animated Joker will get to drop some F-bombs on the new show. In his words: Just about every mass-marketed Batman project that has been released outside of the comic books has been marketed to consumers of all ages, especially the live-action and animated movies and series. Sure, Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson's Jokers were scary as bawls at times, but PG-13 doesn't hinder sheer menace in the way that it hinders certain four-letter words from being used ad nauseam. Not that telling someone to fuck off is the epitome of criminal mastery, but it'll be kind of fun and … [Read more...] about The Joker Will Apparently Drop F-Bombs On DC Universe’s Harley Quinn Show
In case you weren’t already aware, Alan Tudyk is providing the voice of The Joker in DC’s upcoming Harley Quinn animated series. There are have been several voice actors who have voiced the legendary Batman villain over the years, but for most fans, Mark Hamill is the definitive version of the character. He just brought the character to life in a way that no one else has been able to do. Well, as a fan of Tudyk, I wish him the best as he takes on the role, and I’m excited to see how he makes it is own. The actor is well aware of how fans feel about Hamill’s Joker, and one thing he’s not going to do is try to replicate Hamill’s style. Tudyk shared a conversation he had with Tony Hale, who also voiced The Joker as well at one point. "Here's a funny story, Tony Hale plays Psycho, Doctor Psycho. He came in, and I'd said, 'Hi,' and he didn't, I don't know, I'd just finished recording and he was coming in to record and he was talking to the producer … [Read more...] about Alan Tudyk on Playing The Joker Differently Than Mark Hamill in DC’s HARLEY QUINN Animated Series
