EastEnders actor James Alexandrou has claimed Noel Clarke had ‘too many of us scared for too long’ as he responded to the abuse and bullying allegations made against the Brotherhood actor.
It comes after 20 women came forward with allegations about the Viewpoint star this week.
Following the publication of the Guardian’s investigation , former soap star James weighed in on Twitter writing: “Noel Clarke had too many of scared us for too long.
On Thursday, the Guardian published allegations fro 20 different women about Clarke, who they claimed had bullied or harassed them between 2004 and 2019.
Clarke has strongly denied the accusations.
In a statement yesterday, Clarke said he ‘vehemently denies any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing’ after 20 women came forward to allege he had sexually harassed or abused them.
The actor , who is married to Iris Da Silva, said he is ‘deeply sorry’ and ‘seeking professional help’.
Following the investigation by the Guardian newspaper, Bafta suspended Clarke’s membership and stripped him of the contribution to cinema award he received in April.
While ITV decided to pull the final episode of thriller Viewpoint from the TV schedule over the "very serious nature" of the allegations against lead star Clarke.
The conclusion to the drama was put on the ITV Hub for a ‘limited time’ instead.
An ITV spokesperson said “TV has a zero tolerance policy to bullying, harassment and victimisation and robust procedures in place to investigate and deal with any complaints. We strongly believe that everyone deserves to work in a supportive and safe environment.
In light of the very serious nature of the allegations against Noel Clarke raised by 20 women in the Guardian's report, ITV has decided it is no longer appropriate to broadcast the final episode of the drama Viewpoint on ITV main channel this evening.
"We are mindful that some of our viewers have already invested four hours of their time over the past four nights in following this thriller which was due to conclude this evening, and they have yet to see the final episode. As such we plan to make it available on ITV Hub tonight for a limited time for any viewers who wish to seek it out, and watch its conclusion."
Sky also they have “halted” work with the actor following the claims.
