A large rural area near Bristol has welcomed one of the UK’s largest gatherings of naturists for the fourth year running.
Located at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping Park in Somerset, Nudefest 2019 will include fire walking, a 10K run and virtual reality gaming.
There will also be craft sessions, yoga lessons, a fishing contest, clay pigeon shooting and a silent disco for the 500 or so in attendance.
The scenic site, around an hour’s drive from Bristol, will be completely clothes free from 5pm today (Monday, July 8) which gives early birds time to strip off and catch up with friends before the official opening at 3pm on Tuesday. The festival finishes on Monday, July 15.

With a site consisting of two main camping areas and a main hub where the majority of activities take place, organisers say that ‘everyone is encouraged to sit and chat creating a friendly village-like atmosphere to encourage the community spirit and help people, perhaps new to naturism, relax and make friends’.
The main marquee will house a well-stocked bar selling locally produced ales, cider and lager.
Attached to this will be a quieter lounge area, while further along will be the catering marquee providing meals throughout the festival.
The pop-up stage which saw its first outing last year will be renamed The Garden Stage and will host live music, ‘show and tell’ sessions, workshops, stories and more.

The Information, First Aid, Shop and Craft Tents will all make a return as well, as will the Quiet Tent situated at the opposite corner of the main field. Sports equipment will also be available to use, as will a range of board games.
Nudefest is organised by British Naturism and sponsored by Bare Necessities Travel.
It takes place at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping Park, Muchelney, Langport, Somerset from Tuesday, July 9 until Monday, July 15.
