Best Black Friday Amazon deals of 2018

Black Friday is almost here, meaning major retailers are already slashing prices on everything from tech to fashion to kick off the Christmas shopping season. 

But there’s no need to battle through the high street anymore – with online giants such as Amazon offering some of the best deals around, you can bag a bargain from the comfort of your sofa.

Amazon’s huge ten day sale begins from midnight Thursday 16 November and runs until 25 November. The online retailer’s sale is set to include major discounts on everything from electronics to this year’s must-have toys, games, fashion, jewellery and beauty products.

Throughout the period, you can expect to find “Deals of the Day” which are featured for just 24 hours, “Lightning Deals” that are featured for several hours and “Best Deals” which can run for up to two weeks.

What is Amazon Prime?

For the purposes of Black Friday, signing up to Amazon Prime will mean you get exclusive first access the Lightning Deals, as well as potential further discounts on other products and speedy delivery of purchases. Although Amazon hasn’t announced any Black Friday deals yet, being a Prime member will certainly give you an advantage when it comes to 24 November (and the deals beforehand).

There are plenty of other benefits to signing up to this subscription service though, including access to thousands of movies and e-books, next-day delivery on Amazon purchases, and your very own Prime Day, where members have access to a series of flash sales. You can even buy your groceries online too, through Amazon fresh.

It costs £79 a year to be a member but students get a discounted price of £39. There’s a free trial to test the service if you don’t want to pay without trying it out first.
